We were heading out on a 7 day road trip to Colorado to escape the Texas heat and got delayed one day. I built this setup in that day! It secured our gear in the bed while traveling, hotel nights and trail heads. We pulled into any campsite, pulled our camp boxes out, slid them under the...
We decided on a last minute road trip in search of cooler temps (Colorado). Can't decide on bed cover.... So decided to build a cover, tent 😂.
$100 in material plus stuff I had on hand (door hinges, cedar fence sealant) and 4 hours later... Boom.
Not 100% waterproof but will keep our stuff out...
I've had no issues since. I've pit another 5k miles on it and so far its all good. I have taken one 500 mile trip averaged 28mpg and another into tne Texas hill country buy my driving and the hills knocked it down to 26.i
Still loving it.
So I'm lying or 4WP is lying? What's your point? I didn't push for detailed answers because I figured there might be some 'looking the other way' on the lift install for warranty work. I know its fixed and I didn't pay for it.
The 4 Wheel Parts guys were really my middle men on the deal and no, I never knew what they replaced.
I do know it took the dealer forever to figure it out and I think they ended up mounting a camera underneath to pin point the issue. Yeah it feels more like a drivetrain issue than...
After many weeks, dealer returned the truck 'fixed' and cleared that it wasn't an issue caused by the lift. O didn't pay anything, lift was reinstalled and haven't had an issue since.
All's well that ends well?
Just Friday, the dealer claims after replacing both front axles (and maybe something else?). It's fixed. Lift had nothing to do with it. They cleared 4WPs to reinstall 2" leveling kit. I pick it up Monday. No cost to me.
I'll keep updating this post after I get it back.
My experience is the dealer is blaming the lift and 4 Wheel Parts has replaced the axle and it STILL has a horrid vibration. Returned to stock height and no change. Everyone is scratching their heads.
My truck has been sitting at the dealership that 4WP performs their 3rd party mods for over 2...
Thanks. I've owned 15 different 4x4's and had lifts on over 1/2 of them. A 2" level should not cause any serious issues with the axles. ESPECIALLY at 5k miles.
Ford tech implied he didn't think so either
4 Wheel Parts has replaced the axle and it still had the wobble immediately. They...
4WP replaced the axle but vibration is still present. They removed the lift completely and there's no change. The truck is now at the dealership that this 4WP does their 3rd party work. Waiting to see what everyone comes up with....
To be honest, in January 2022, it was the only one I could find. The factor for me is 4 Wheel Parts stepped up and is taking care of everything including the required adjustment to the lift.
I agree with all you said but..... 4 Wheel Parts stepped up. It was the first install they did on a Maverick. They missed a step. They are replacing the axel with no cost to me.
All's well, that ends ...
this was where he checked the box for suspension mod on the aftermarket and the page is missing where he wrote the note in my papers. He assured me many times there wasn't an issue. 😡
Fool me once, shame in you. Fool me twice, shame on me. There's a reason I haven't bought a new vehicle in 18...
The wobble is very significant accelerating at 45mph. I scared the crap out of me.
On turns at slow speeds it makes a little cupping/rubber popping sound. I had it towed to 4 Wheel Parts this morning. Let's see what they say
The Ford service rep told me 1) the tech told her he gave it a...
