  1. First Check Engine Light @ 11,000 Miles: P0496/P0451

So after the purge valve did not fix my truck (shocker…apparently they fired the parts cannon at it), they ordered me a charcoal canister and a fuel tank pressure sensor which should fix it. However the sensor is on back order…hoping this doesn’t drag out forever!
  2. First Check Engine Light @ 11,000 Miles: P0496/P0451

Just had my truck into the dealer today and they diagnosed it as the “purge flow assembly”. Covered under warranty, ordered the part, will take it in to get replaced. No hassle, hopefully that is the fix.
  3. Brake Vibration at Specific Speed?

No change, it’s kind of a weird thing. Sometimes it brakes smooth, sometimes it doesn’t. Not sure if it’s just a characteristic of the tires interacting with the road surface at that specific speed? I had asked the dealer to look at it and they of course couldn’t duplicate the issue.
  4. First Check Engine Light @ 11,000 Miles: P0496/P0451

Thanks! What’s weird is I was able to get the light to stay off for a few days and the EVAP monitors to run and pass but then it came back on.
  5. First Check Engine Light @ 11,000 Miles: P0496/P0451

Just got a P0451 at nearly identical mileage to yours. I sprayed mine with Fluid Film but can’t imagine I got so much on there that it failed, I also did it back in November. Attempting to make an appointment with a dealer to get it taken care of, really glad to see they took care of it under...
  6. Check Engine Light - P0451 @12k Miles

So I had the check engine light come on in my Maverick the other day. I pulled the code and it was a P0451, which seems to indicate an issue with the fuel tank pressure sensor. I cleared the code that morning, then it came back as I left work. I read online that sometimes it can be the capless...
  7. Skipping/Jerking Wiper Issue Saga Continues - New Motor Did Not Fix

Wanted to post an update since this might help someone. I tried coating the windshield with some ceramic spray - I used Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions which is the same product I use on the paint (bottle says it’s good for glass too). I also tweaked the wiper arm slightly as I noticed that the...
  8. Cracked Brake Pads and Warped Rotors

No noise on mine, but I do notice that when I brake from 50 to 40, there is a definite vibration in the steering wheel. At speeds above or below the 40 to 50 range it is smooth. Very strange to me but isn’t a huge deal.
  9. Maverick reliability

My only real issue is that the wipers skip/jerk at the end of their cycle on intermittent. They still work fine though, just very annoying. I started a thread about it and many others seem to have the same issue. Otherwise, no actual issues, truck drives great after 10k miles. I’ve had the...
  10. Skipping/Jerking Wiper Issue Saga Continues - New Motor Did Not Fix

So now that we’ve had some real solid rain I’ve had a chance to obsess over this more. I did apply Rain-X and that did not solve the issue. I might do another application and see if that changes things. The most peculiar thing I noticed is how inconsistent it is, and how sometimes the “jerk” is...
  11. Skipping/Jerking Wiper Issue Saga Continues - New Motor Did Not Fix

I can honestly say it’s my only real gripe with the truck. Otherwise I am super happy with it and it’s my favorite vehicle I have owned.
  12. Skipping/Jerking Wiper Issue Saga Continues - New Motor Did Not Fix

Yep! Sometimes they work beautifully and then they’ll skip. It’s so inconsistent. At least I’ve got it to a place where it doesn’t make noise.
  13. Skipping/Jerking Wiper Issue Saga Continues - New Motor Did Not Fix

Just an update now that we got our first real rain in a long time (thankfully, we needed it). It still does the skip. However, with the new blades and clean windshield there is no noise, so I am going to have to deal with it and it’s far less annoying than before where it would squeak...
  14. Ford rust out

I live in an area that heavily salts the roads, so everything rusts out in no time. In an attempt to prolong the life of my truck I did a Fluid Film spray treatment and will do that each year before winter. Hoping it helps, I’ve seen some good results from it.
  15. Anyone clay barring and polishing their new Maverick?

I had some rail dust that a clay bar took care of nicely. I didn’t do all of the truck, just the spots that had the rail dust.
  16. Skipping/Jerking Wiper Issue Saga Continues - New Motor Did Not Fix

So far so good, just did a long road trip but there was no rain other than a brief shower, seemed to work okay during that. Just using the wipers for windshield washing they seem a lot smoother now. Fingers crossed, but it’s been very dry here so haven’t had a real chance to test it out.
  17. Skipping/Jerking Wiper Issue Saga Continues - New Motor Did Not Fix

I just cleaned the windshield with Meguiars Perfect Clarity cleaner (great stuff by the way!!) and installed new blades (Rain-X Silicone Endura). As of now they work nice and smooth. I will report back and see how long it lasts. It’s been dry here so my ability to test is limited but hopefully...
  18. Skipping/Jerking Wiper Issue Saga Continues - New Motor Did Not Fix

I am not well versed enough to say for sure but I don’t think it is a stepper motor. Only my guess. I assumed a new motor would fix it but it did not. It’s possible that the force on the blade isn’t right somehow. I had to remove the wiper arms for the replacement so I would have re-torqued the...
  19. Skipping/Jerking Wiper Issue Saga Continues - New Motor Did Not Fix

This makes sense to me, I notice the same thing with it shifting the position of the blade rubber. I also feel like when I tried a different set of blades (Rain-X Latitude) the problem seems to go away or at least get significantly better as when it does that weird “park” motion, the new blades...
  20. Skipping/Jerking Wiper Issue Saga Continues - New Motor Did Not Fix

Interesting that yours is a 2023 and also does it.
