I attached a fused lead from the jump point/stud and ground point in the engine bay to a weather proof 2 prong trailer plug lead that exits through the fender vent. The charger stays on the wall and you plug in the charger whenever you plan on staying parked for a few days. This will do until...
You are definitely right that the sensors shut off when there is no motion detected. (Someone posted a few years ago on Maverick Truck Club that their truck was getting readings from tires stored nearby). And yes, be careful of cheap Amazon TPMS not working properly because of degrading battery...
If you have heated seats/steering wheel, and leave them on when driving in the winter, the miles driven in electric or electric assist will be very minimal. This will affect your milage noticeably. Watch the power/charge meter in EV coach mode and you will understand.
As far as I know, there are only 2 frequencies for TPMS, 315MHz and 433MHz., the only difference is the mounting fixture for the specific rim. You also do not need a tool to program them to your car anymore (as in previous years). Your Maverick should pick them up automatically. Store your...
Check the wrecking yards for used VOLVO (SUV/wagon) wheels, 17" or 18 ". Likely around $100-$150. these fit perfectly with stock spec size tires and require no spacers or different lug nuts. Make sure to buy decent quality TPS monitors and the truck will recognize them automatically.
Looks like the poster has an EcoBoost, which uses the 8 Spd auto trans. This most certainly uses fluid which is under internal pressure to activate the clutches and shifting.
First thing to check would be the vehicles entire service and repair history (how many fluid changes on components and the timeframe, 12 V. battery replacement , CV axles etc>) then check to see if all the recalls have been completed. Something to keep in mind is that the more recent models...
Have your battery fully charged, then load tested properly. A fully charged battery can show close to 13 volts, but you need to know what it reads under a load and how fast the voltage drops while under load. Closely check all connections at the battery and the chassis ground. If it's your...
Inatvertantly running the battery down to a very low voltage, (even once) will greatly diminish its life. You can use a battery charger to bring it back to 12.6V (do it slowly at 6 amps max over 24 hrs), then have it load tested, that will tell you if it's still serviceable or if you need to...
Lots of valid points, what I haven't seen explained is the reason to "top off". You're certainly not saving a penny by doing this. Can someone rationalize the reason for this, and why there seem to be so many opinions on this practice?
I don't have any real problem with the dial other than I would have liked a stiffer more defined detent between the gear positions, and not have the dial spin round and round.
The Maverick is not a plug in hybrid, so no charging of the battery is taking place while parked, not much chance of a fire, (about the same odds as if it was a normal gas only vehicle). I can't say I've ever heard of a Maverick catching fire while parked. The engine breaching issue and...
The 2025 AWD Hybrid is approx. 60 lbs. heavier than the 2024 FWD model. So figure a hit of 1-2 MPG for the extra weight frictional loss of a driveshaft/diff etc.
In reality, if I was to order a 25 today, I would forgo any AWD, I don't need it for my purposes and in my opinion it just adds more complexity and weight. Others, of course have different needs.
After about 2 or 3 days of reaching for the phantom column mounted shifter my old S-15 had, I was used to it, never had a problem with it. But I do wish the detents between drive modes were more pronounced.
