I live in suburban Chicago, and bought my '23 Maverick XLT in Fort Wayne, IN. I drove 170 miles to Bob Thomas Ford (shout out!) to pick up my truck after a wonderful experience buying online. They had it on display in the showroom when I arrived! Supply was limited, and dealers in Chicago area...
I'm an old guy. I remember thinking "Cabin filter? WTF is a cabin filter?" when I first bought a vehicle that had one! My old Chevy Impala in high school back in the 70's had just straight up dirty air blowin' in!
As for my Maverick, I trust the maintenance schedules and OEM parts. I...
'23 Maverick XLT Ecoboost w/ 4K package. I tow a2022 Forest River Wolf Pup BHS.
No problems towing. (except for a tire blowout that did $8000 damage to the camper. Thank God for insurance, which I had just renewed a week before it was due!)
I've towed it on short trips to a local campground often (30 miles away) and on longer trips as well (200+ miles) on backroads, interstate, gravel roads. . . I live in the Midwest, so most terrain is fairly flat.
I have the 2.0 ecoboost w/ 4K tow package. I get the "standard" mileage normally: 29 hwy/24 city. Towing does hit the MPG! I get 15 mpg on the highway at 65 mph when I tow the camper and truck bed loaded with gear and my wife in the passenger seat.
I do have the 4K tow package. The camper's unloaded weight is 3500 lbs. The correct hitch package is the key! Towed it 150 miles with gear in the camper, luggage in the bed, and three adults in the cab: smooth cruising!
