I suspect the PTS is in the position it is as a cost saving feature. Using that location for more than one thing probably saves somewhere. The thing is, in my side gig doing some valet work I find that there isn't a "typical" spot for a PTS switch. I'm still trying to figure out why some...
Interesting. I see in the specs that it says "synthetic blend" but I've noticed as of late that it's more difficult to find anything but full synthetic. Before I got rid of my '97 Camry I used full synthetic the last couple of oil changes because even Walmart didn't carry much "dino oil" any...
I've just had my Maverick a month. How often do you guys wipe down the plastic with whatever you use? Since I've already got Armor All on hand, I'll probably start with that.
I'm just setting the cruise control and lettin' 'er go.
To nerd out a little and use the table feature, my results on the two trips were:
cruise setting
outbound
return
70 mph
36.8
38
75 mph
29.3
35.8
Averaging these "averages" is still about 35 mpg, so not bad. Be...
Part 2 of the highway experiment from post #3. Make the same run, but reversed cruise control speed. At 70 mph on the outbound I got 36.8 mpg this time compared to the 29.3 @ 75 mph the last time; however, on the return trip with the cruise set at 75 mph I still ended up with 35.8 mpg compared...
Some interesting results today on my first long highway runs. Had to make about a 50 mile trip down the interstate today. I'd say 45 of the 50 miles was pure interstate. On the outbound leg I set the cruise at 75 and the computer said about 29.3 before it crept up to just over 30mpg when I...
I've found it to be more red in bright sunlight and more orange when overcast or in low light (as some others have stated). I almost balked and switched colors early on, but I'm enjoying the not-just-another-fire-engine-red red of my HPR. :)
So, just refilled my Maverick for the first time. Drove 460.3 miles and filled up with 12.697 gallons (no top-off after gas pump clicked off). Works out to a computed mileage of 36.3 while the computer said 36.4. Driving was in Memphis area, which is relatively flat. I would estimate 50%...
I'll have to pay closer attention to actually detail when it happens, but from what I can recall it's usually in low-speed situations as noted above, such as when I'm in the drive-thru lane or something and I'm trying to creep between the payment window and the pick-up window, or maybe creeping...
I got the email that my Maverick was shipped but the Order Tracker still hasn't checked the shipped indicator (radio button) almost a week later, so I don't know if it's been shipped or not. Estimated arrival between June 5 and 11.
The thing I've noticed is that if the EPA highway rating is based on something closer to 60mph, then I've had multiple vehicles hit their EPA estimate while running back-and-forth along I-40 over the years across Tennessee, from relatively flat west TN up to the Cumberland Plateau around...
I like the dial. Makes much more sense to me than all these automatics with pretend stick-shift thing or whatever is going on there. I also like that it takes up less space and is not as intrusive as a center console shifter. I'd been happy with the push-button shifter like the Ridgeline's, too.
