  1. Painted mirror caps???

I was wondering if the painted mirror caps are something that snaps onto the regular mirror or is it molded into the mirror? I love the look of the painted mirror caps. I would imagine that this would be something aftermarket you make.
  2. Hood gas struts for Maverick

Then the gas struts might be a good thing it will limit the travel because it’s fixed unlike the hood prop rod that can slip out. A $90 investment sounds a lot cheaper then a hood replacement. Good to know thank you
  3. Premium or Regular unleaded ??

The 3.5 Eco-boost is a great engine. The company I work for has many of these with close to or over 200k. The only real problems we witness is coolant leak or oil leak at turbo feed lines. Those lines are a bear to replace. Then at about 150k expect to do a water pump and boost sensor. That’s...
  4. License plate location

There is a picture or video somewhere that shows the front plate on. I can’t find it but it’s not horrible like the full size Bronco.
  5. Toyota Tacoma EV or Hybrid

The Tacoma’s base price is above the Maverick’s base. Then when you start adding options plus hybrid power train etc the Taco’s get very expensive quickly. They are great but out of my price point (I’m cheap). Toyota will also not give away there hybrid power train like it seems Ford is doing.
  6. Which Bed Liner?

I had a 2011 Dakota that I did a home DIY kinda like spray in liner. Hercules I believe the name was with a rubber mat on the bottom. It really worked well. At work we use the factory spray in liners from Ford and have used Line X before it was a factory option. They hold up very well in a...
  7. 2.5L Hybrid

Yes and if you look there are more Miata’s racing then any other vehicle out there. This engine has even proven itself at 24hr Le Mans in LMP-2 cars. I’m a big supporter of Mazda they make great products but have poor marketing. They are one of the only manufacturer’s that doesn’t have issues...
  8. 2.5L Hybrid

These components have been tried and true. They have been updated but basically the same units. It’s a parts bin truck. The chassis is a C2 which has been used worldwide for a little while now. The drivetrain has a long history. The engine dates back to the original Mazda 3. The Mazda MZR engine...
  9. Cactus Gray Maverick XL walkaround video

It’s spelled Chowdah here in New England 🤣
  10. Hybrid power train and air conditioning?

I read on Prodemand about the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid’s operation of the A/C compressor and it uses both the low voltage (12 to 16) and the high voltage (170 to 350) if I remember the numbers right on the numbers right. This system should be the same as the Maverick. The compressor is still...
  11. Fuel Charge

Salem Ford charged me $44.40. Which I even though was high for a truck that runs cheap gas and holds under 14 gallons. Must be like paying for full serve I guess.
  12. 2.5L Hybrid

I agree thank you so much for not doing direct injection. I really don’t see that much of an improvement with it compared to the long term problems. I like advanced technology but only if it is reliable.
  13. Hood gas struts for Maverick

I was thinking that as well but the Bronco Sport has the same setup with no secondary latch. So I don’t know if once you pull the release lever for the second time if the hood will pop up on its own.
  14. Hood gas struts for Maverick

I’m a mechanic on heavy equipment and gotten it drilled into my head early in my career to check oil regularly. So every fill up I usually check my fluids. Old habits die hard I guess.
  15. Hood gas struts for Maverick

https://www.redlinetuning.com/2021-Ford-Bronco-SPORT-Hood-QuickLIFT-PLUS-p/21-11038-02.htm This is something I would be interested in to get rid of the hood prop for my Maverick. I don’t see why it would not fit because the Maverick and Bronco Sport are the same chassis.

  17. Hybrid / CVT Break-In?

I agree seeing how this transmission, ICE engine, and electric motor all work with each other thru one planetary gear set in genius. As a heavy equipment mechanic for 25+ years and having torn down all types of transmissions, final drives, gear boxes etc this is so simple it’s stupid.
  18. Hybrid power train and air conditioning?

If I remember right 2.5l hybrid engine doesn’t even have a drive belt. So the A/C has to be electric. Which is great because that’s one last thing that will need will need maintenance. Also one less thing robbing power from the engine. I really do love the simplicity of the hybrid system.
  19. Is Hyundai Running Scared?

I seen the Santa Cruz a while back and it did spark a little something but it doesn’t have that truck look. I’m so glad Ford built the Maverick it’s a perfect vehicle for me. Great fuel mileage great square truck like looks and very simple. The Santa Cruz reminds me of the Subaru Baja which is...
  20. Maverick CVT transmission line to be converted in July for production

Her CR-V is the Old K-motor 2.3 or 2.4 I think non turbo. I heard Honda is having problems with their 1.5 turbo motors. Dilution of the oil due to the direct injection over fueling on cold mornings and short trips. Not sure if they have a fix for it yet or not. Just a FYI if anyone has one
