I guess that's the cost to pay to have all four seasons of the year. I guess I could always bundle up and delete the fordpass app, but the luxury is worth the cost....
I can handle it, seems like a simple comfort vs practicality compromise. Yeah, the cold definitely has an effect not only on the battery, but I believe on the Atkinson engine as well since it probably takes a longer amount of time to get to proper operating temp. 5-10mpg is quite significant, wow.
This is my 2nd tank. 1st tank was 34.6MPG. I use remote start via fordpass app every morning, and then again before i head back home. I believe during this tank I was out shopping and I did start it a few more times than normal.
So would my insurance company. Just kidding, clean record. I believe it might be due to 85% highway driving (mostly 70mph+) and then all the other factors like cold weather, remote start, quick trips.... I'm going to limit my use of remote start and try to stick to ~65mph and see what we can do...
In brief, I got 26.7MPG while the calculated computer was estimating 32.7MPG.
Also, I picked up a nice toolbox and was able to use the tailgate tie downs to safely
lower the toolbox without the help of a second person. The tailgate tie downs are a VERY cool feature.
Absolutely. These are the continentals. We don't get too much snow here compared to some of the places closer to the lakes and further north, so the typical road conditions for snow will be similar to this. For the big once a year snowstorm, I'm prepared with the Acura RDX SH-AWD with Blizzaks.
I guess this would be an overall hybrid quirk that isn't limited to just mavericks then. Still interesting to note though as this will probably be many owners' first hybrid vehicle.
I am quite OCD about wearing my seat belt. I was just showing this weird turn signal silence quirk as I at no point in this video was on a public road or went above 10 mph.
Takes about 15 seconds for FordPass to start the truck. Ill be doing another video of some snow tests
as we will be getting some snow tonight here in southeast Pennsylvania. I'll also do a video on the speed/acceleration/highway practicality. It is actually quicker than expected.
Absolutely. I'll try to take advantage of the fact it's one of the few hybrids on the road currently so I'll try to post to youtube as much as possible and try to show everything new/interesting I find.
