It is very simple to remove if you want to haul anything. You simply unlock the mount lock and lift up on the toolbox. I don't see why the mounting hardware left installed would prevent you from hauling plywood, but I haven't tried it.

Yeah, I thought about that when I ordered it, that's why I went with the right side. I was also worried about it covering up the cubby door on the right side, but it's pretty easy to get to when you swing out the tool box.
