Saint Jude is the patron saint of hopeless causes. You could get a statue of him to put in the cubby IF you should ever get your Maverick, which may in fact be a hopeless cause.
When I finally got my Maverick, I sold the Chevy Spark & Ford Explorer I was driving. I checked some of the online offers and at least the Kelly offer was contingent on an inspection. In each case the dealer offer was substantially lower than the come-on offer they gave originally.
No I didn't use stainless, probably should have though. I used (4) 1/4" screws, along with captive nut plates on the top 2 holes on each flap, and had to get (4) longer screws to replace the shorter screws on the bottom 2 holes. Needed a couple 1/4 fender washers under one of those screws to...
The blue oval Ford Plasticolor flaps from Amazon do a good job. They're only $24.99, but will require a trip to Home Depot or Ace Hardware for mounting hardware.
I think I'd call Long McArthur Ford and ask the Ford Video Guy what he recommends. My inclination would be to stick with the hybrid. Ford is the only game in town on hybrid trucks. You can always get a gas powered mini truck from Santa Cruz, or gas powered midsize trucks from lots of OEMs...
Shutting off 2022 eco boost orders was forecast, or at least prophesied, by many people. Now it has come to be.
I am almost afraid to drive my hybrid Maverick now though. They used to say after an accident where no one was killed........ "at least you are alright, you can always replace the...
Someone should go to Home Depot and get a 4 x 8 sheet of foam insulation and tie it between 2 posts, then film it while crashing into the foam sheet. Better than testing with another vehicle or building.
You might find that you really like the Santa Cruz, in which case you could take delivery of your Maverick when it comes, and flip it for enough profit to cover the premium price you paid for the Santa Cruz. That way you'd get a Santa Cruz for the price of a Maverick.
Welcome Bill. Lots of valuable information on this forum. I wish I would have gotten on the forum before I ordered mine. You'll have fun watching the tracker as your Maverick starts making its way to the Wayne Assembly plant on the railroad.
You have to drill the 4 mounting holes, and buy the tinnerman nut plates, screws, and fender washers, plus the longer screws to go in the bottom holes. But they are easy to find at Ace Hardware or Home Depot.
I put the OEM flaps on the front, but on the rear I used the plasticolor blue oval flaps from Amazon at $24.99. They provide more coverage, and I liked the blue oval logo........
I put the Ford splash guards on the front, but for the rears I opted for the plasticover blue oval flaps from Amazon.......
To install them you have to drill 4 hole in each flap, and buy 4 tinnerman nut plates and screws to replace the push in plastic retainers, along with 4 longer screws...
I would say no. If it was really needed Ford would have put it on. Shoot, when I was a kid and regularly changing/fixing transmissions in my 63 Chevy, I only used 3 of the mounting bolts, instead of the 4 that Chevrolet used. So OEMs are inclined to be safe and add stuff when it might not be...
If you are in SE Michigan it most likely will go to the Wayne Assembly plant on Michigan Ave. You can verify that by checking the trucking to your dealer using your VIN # with this tracker........... https://palsapp.com What ever they show as the origin is probably where it goes next from...
