So, I'm claiming best Mother's Day present this year. Brought home this 2023 Tremor XLT LUX for my beautiful wife. Had an order in with Chapman Philadelphia that came in and got a terrific deal (3% below invoice, plus price protection to original order date in September). Told her if she decided...
Visited a local tint shop today to get my two front windows done to match the rears.
Also had them put some black satin vinyl wrap over the top portion of the headlight housing. The guy called it eyebrows. I guess it kind of does look like that.
FYI: This does NOT cover any functional...
Finally took the plunge on the hood struts and Tailgate Assist. Easy peasy and really like the upgrade.
Both ordered off Amazon and the hood struts came with 4 Maverick decals so I had enough to do both struts and the tailgate too!
Any Chapman Philadelphia customers use the Ford Pass Rewards Visa as part of the down payment when picking up from Chapman of Northeast Philadelphia?
My salesman (not Ed, I was handed off to someone else to handle delivery) said they don't allow it but the Chapman Philly website has a page...
FX4 vs. Tremor has been discussed at length, but I recently had a personal experience with the decision. Video pretty much explains it all for those who are interested.
For those who aren't, here's the short version: FX4 plus 4K Tow trumps Tremor.
I've been slowly getting all chrome removed from my truck. For those who want that Black Appearance Package look on the cheap, a $7 can of Plasti Dip from Walmart will do it. Very happy with the finished product!
So, I'll have much more on this in an upcoming video, but bottom line I passed on a 23 Tremor today. For a variety of reasons.-- personal, practical and financial -- I just couldn't justify going away from my 22 FX4 4K Tow with 2-inch Eibach Pro Lift Springs.
Thought you'd enjoy these photos...
Got what I believe is the highest offer yet on my Maverick today. This is from Vroom. Several thousand above sticker. Was a couple thousand higher than Carvana.
I know used vehicle prices have been falling, but doesn't seem like Maverick demand is waning much at all.
TLDR: A 2-Inch Lift and Oversizes All-Terrain Tires will Cost You Roughly 2 mpg vs. Stock. Read on for full details...
OK, since I installed 2-inch Eibach lift springs and Firestone Destination AT 245/70/17 tires on my 2022 XLT FX4 4K Tow, lots of folks have asked about real-world fuel economy...
Doing college tours this week with out 11th grader. This is also the Maverick's first big road trip and first time visiting institutions of higher learning.
Today was the first stop: University of Richmond. Beautiful campus. Great school.
Headed to Charleston, S.C., tomorrow. Will post more...
Finally got my lift kit, aftermarket wheels and tires installed this week, and I couldn't be happier with how great the truck looks. The more aggressive stance is exactly what I was looking for, and because the Eibach springs offer a 2-inch lift in the front and 1 inch in the rear, this kit...
So I'm getting the Eibach 2-inch Prp-Lift springs installed on Wednesday but didn't really care for the silver finish Eibach puts on all its off-road springs. Black just works better with my color scheme so took this Sunday afternoon to prep them...
Today I installed the ACS Forged rack from Leitner Designs on my 2022 FX4 4K Tow. Let me just say I am blown away by the quality of this product. Yes, it's expensive, but it is absolutely top-notch from top to bottom. Looks great. Powder coat finish melds seamlessly with the black plastic trim...
If you ever wondered about the hydrophobic properties of a ceramic coated vehicle, check out this 15-second video.
For those interested, my truck is coated with IGL Coatings Kenzo Graphene Reinforced.
OK, so I installed a wireless Car Play dongle and bought a cubby grid and mounted a magnetic wireless phone charger there. I've got the charger plugged into a high-output adapter I bought for the 12-volt port below, and now I want to to do something to organize the cable and route it neatly...
So, saw this post on FB and it got me wondering: how long until someone figures out a way to mount a Tremor lower front bumper cover on a non-Tremor truck?
Now, before you state the obvious -- IT WON'T FIT -- I get it. But I get it COULD fit with a little "creative engineering."
As I commented...
So, I've ordered the Eibach Pro-Lift Kit and will be searching for an installer in my area. This kit includes four springs and a pair of replacement camber bolts for the fronts that allow proper alignment to be achieved after install. The springs are designed to work with the OEM shocks.
For...
Slowly but surely I've been getting rid of all the exterior chrome on my truck.
Today I took off the stock chrome AWD letters on the tailgate and replaced with a $9 matte black AWD badge from Amazon.
Folks, I just dropped the latest video in my ongoing vlog about my Maverick build/mods. If you've ever considered getting a ceramic coating for your truck, or maybe just wondered what it's all about, I hope this video will be entertaining, educational and also give you some nice looks of the...
