  1. Custom fabricated cover / filler panel for left rear underbody opening

You still need the lower cover to protect the cubby, and stop dirt from getting into area of tail light. I have even tried mud flaps, failed to protect area. The home made cover is working great..
  2. Custom fabricated cover / filler panel for left rear underbody opening

I did make a cardboard templet using your measurements, with the exception of the leg. This is were I used the L shape bracket. There is a pillar for the bed that I attached the bracket to for the rear left, instead of the leg. Bracket is fastened with a 1/4" bolt, on truck and a large sheet...

only 1 1/2" clearance between muffler and cover.
  4. Custom fabricated cover / filler panel for left rear underbody opening

Just finished making and installing shield. There are some minor differences. I have 2l FX 4K Lariat Lux. The mufflers are not the same. Mine is oval shaped not tubular like the one pictured in this thread. Probably just made it harder to do. Had to cut off the back leg, was able to fix...
  5. Custom fabricated cover / filler panel for left rear underbody opening

You need to get under the vehicle. You will find a cover below the cubby on the right side. The cubby DOES NOT fill the void! You will need to have a cover on the Left side also. I have not seen a Maverick with the Left side cubby, but I can't see anyway that it would not have cover of some...
  6. Custom fabricated cover / filler panel for left rear underbody opening

The cubby is above a cover much like this one only plastic. So no you cannot accomplish stopping mud, water and dirt by just adding a cubby. Still need a cover above the muffler then you could add a cubby on the left side.
  7. Custom fabricated cover / filler panel for left rear underbody opening

I don't think ABS plastic will work in this area, to hot from the muffler just below.
  8. Engine “Steaming”

Looks like its moisture coming from the outside of the intercooler. This is why there is an aftermarket intercooler being sold in another thread on this site. The intercooler that Ford installs is very marginal. It simply gets hot and any water or moisture drops simply go up in steam. Air...
  9. Mud / salt / debris trap

Mud flaps will NOT keep crud from getting up in this area. I have mud flaps only a couple inches off ground and crud still gets in. I worry because of all the electronics, switch for bed, 120v outlet, tail lights. Lariat lux. Ford needs to address this problem and provide a solution/recall...
  10. Mud / salt / debris trap

Take a closer look on the right side, you will find that what you are looking at is actually a cover. The storage cubby is above this cover. I think that Ford needs to come up with a cover for the left side also. Problem is the muffler in this area that would melt a cover like the cover on...
  11. Anyone like the dial shifter?

While riding with me in front passenger seat my dog bumped the dial, shifting truck into neutral. I did not like all at once the engine speed changed, thought something was wrong. All this as I was making a left turn in a busy intersection. Dog now stays in back seat, no exceptions. I still...
  12. Anti - theft Alarm System

My window sticker says that my Maverick has perimeter alarm. When I took it to my dealer they checked and could not find that alarm was even installed. After working on Maverick for most of a day. Stated alarm was not there and put in some paper work with Ford to find what was going on. Have...
  13. Fx4 option , which mode, in snow?

Probably published when Ford didn't know how they was going to build the Maverick. example at one time they had an all wheel drive hybrid on the build site. Those that ordered it, was later given free upgrade to 2l Eco with the all wheel drive. There was lots of people upset as some had...
  14. FWD vs AWD in Snow?

Check local/state laws about studs. Some States have out lawed them, studs wear out the road surface more quickly.
  15. Fx4 option , which mode, in snow?

Here are the modes straight from my truck. Norm, Tow/Haul, Slippery, these modes are for paved roads. Mud/Ruts, and Sand are only for off pavement, as they could cause problems with the all wheel drive. You can also download a owners manual from Ford on their site. I down loaded a PDF manual...
