In the process of researching a car purchase for my mom, my 2022 Lariat with 11k miles on it comes back from carguru with a market price of about $40k. Yeah, it's unreal. At least I'll be good for the next few months if anything happens to it.
Is it sad that at almost 59 years old I got excited to get the Yeti Mav tumbler in the mail yesterday about a week or two after getting my airbag recall done? :p
I bought a Thermoflask at Costco a couple of months ago but that doesn't fit in the Mav, so I'll enjoy having this thing since it...
I'm about to hit 10k miles (at 9500) in about 7 months with 23% oil life remaining. With my Ridgeline the oil life monitor always hit 0% at the 6000 mile mark as recommended in the manual.
So I guess I'll go with the 10k/1-yr limit unless the oil life monitor gets to 0% before then.
Edited...
Used the Fumoto valves on three different vehicles and just got mine for the Maverick earlier this week. Debated whether or not to get one for the Mav since it only requires 1 yr/10k OCIs, but since I plan to keep this truck for as long as it runs, I went ahead and got one because it makes...
Thanks, NWA, I'll check it out. Something like that would seem to create the type of sound I'm hearing, although I would swear it's coming from the rear passenger area more toward that door, but who knows. I'll post my results here after I check it out.
I dropped my Maverick off at my dealer...
Question: the manual shows or at least seems to indicate that the rotation pattern is to cross-rotate the rear tires to the front and move the front to back. I ran across a video from Test Driven TV and they just rotated front-to-back/back-to-front on same side. I went with the manual when I...
Well, got dinged by a rock on the way home from work and before I could even get home fifteen minutes later the ding started cracking and was about six inches long. Bogus. And I actually found another one that had hit the windshield right where the windshield and frame meet - chipped the glass...
First truck was a 2006 Honda Ridgeline, which met an untimely end almost three years ago. Not new to Ford, as I've had a '76 Maverick, an '86 Tempo, an '86 Taurus and a '96 Windstar.
Then maybe it's a case of "YMMV". I know there are regular stories of "stupid" 911 calls. Maybe the policy varies depending on locality, but no, I don't consider hitting a deer at night or cars blocking a lane of traffic due to a collision to be an "emergency."
From 911.gov:
An emergency is...
Ok, didn't read through all fifteen pages of the post, but regarding the suggestion to buy it as a salvage and get it repaired, I considered that tactic for a moment when my beloved '06 Ridgeline was totaled, but my son was working in the insurance biz at the time and he told me that my...
Well, guys, thanks for the prodding. I tried two "old fashioned" stick gauges yesterday and yes, it was a gauge problem. My digital gauge was running about 6 lbs high at the 35-40 lb range. Oddly, it was less than a pound high at the lower end (mower tires - 15lbs).
Stick gauges within 1 lb of...
OK, I'll do more "research." I was skeptical that the TPMS would be off that much and figure it is either a gauge issue or a "timing" issue. Manual says after inflating that it may take two minutes of driving for new air pressures to be registered.
It's a "Slime" branded digital tire gauge. I haven't tried with the old stick-type gauge, but I'm inferring from the questions that followed my original post that the consensus is that the TPMS should be within +/- 1 pound or two of the gauge pressure.
I'll compare my stick gauge and the...
Quick question, I finally got around to checking tire pressure with a gauge and the difference was 7-8 pounds higher with a gauge than what the TPMS was showing. Like others I found my pressure with a gauge to be 43-45 pounds while the TPMS was showing 37-39.
This is the first vehicle I've had...
I've thought about doing this myself to give the dog some traction when I put her in the back. First time I got her up there she seemed a uneasy because she couldn't grip the spray-in. Did you do anything to secure it? I was wondering if a piece of carpet would at some point come flying out...
PM sent. Yes, it is annoying but at least it isn't constant. I'll have it looked at when I take my Maverick in for recall work (heat shield letter received, expecting air bag letter soon).
I've also got a rattle that appears to be coming from the rear driver side. It comes and goes while driving. Like another post, it seems like it's coming from the seatbelt area. I haven't tried closing the upright part of the seat from the passenger side as someone suggested. I'll try that...
