I totally understand that. And.. it is answering the question. So... by your logic. Because the dealers are getting people to pay the MSRP+$10000, ALL people should pay that, including the custom orders. Yes, I realize there's the price protection thingy that prevents that. But it's...
Because it's not a used car. It's a new car that the dealer was willing to sell to the original buyer for MSRP. They lose nothing if they sell to a secondary buyer at MSRP, as proposed by the MANUFACTURER.
You know what would have been nice? If when a buyer cancels out, the dealer goes down the line of unscheduled orders and offers it as MSRP to any willing takers in the order que. Fills "an order" and moves everyone forward one step. THAT DEALER WOULD ROCK and have the BEST REPUTATION.

Not once did I shoot you (the messenger). My comment was solely upon your dealer. Thousands of people have read that memo and have not come to same conclusion as your dealer.
I think your dealer ought to reread the memo. I mean, he is a dealer and all.... Sounds to me like his logic is reversed. I can definitely see Ford being able to build all EB's if they wanted...
The question is if Ford's estimated build capacity per month was estimated correctly. In November, everyone was saying that Ford was RAMPING up production.. possibly double. If I remember correctly December was a decrease in production (Christmas) and January really wasn't all that much better...
I hope it is. But the way the memo worded gives me concern for those that have to reorder/convert.
(UPDATE) At 1h:10min.... Tim said he does NOT know at this time if rollovers will be price protected.
To me, this is one of ford’s biggest mistakes. Ford tried to take the aftermarket out of the picture. Greed. The other issue was the configuration of the packages, again greed. You want this? Then you have to have this!
Packages should have been xl, xlt, lariat. No bedliners, no tonneau...
I said it in another post, I’ll repeat it here, especially in light of todays news. Only about 50% of the remaining 2022 orders will get built. Ford has basically said they aren’t holding over 22’s past the switchover date. In fact, it sounds as if you will need to reorder.
It sucks...
Well stated and well deserved by the ford Exec's @Delzona. As others have said, whether there is action or not, Ford needs to read/hear these experiences of the their customers. I pray they aren't falling on deaf ears as, without customers, the company will fail. I really do believe it's time...
It's your dealer and your dealer circumstances. While you may be at Priority 2, how many people at your dealership are also at priority 2 and ordered ahead of you? You could be #4 at your dealer still. Also, the person who just got a build date for your truck may be #1 at their dealer, even...
It matters to the mind, but it doesn't matter to the plant. They are already scheduled 2 months out. They could go a month without scheduling and still be a month ahead of production.
12? So your dealer is actually using the priority code at the dealership? If so, looks like there are 2 people ahead of you at your dealership. (Have no clue, but the only reason I could see a priority level of 12.)
