I thought the front ball joint / control arm assembly has remained the same since the original ā$19,999ā Maverick days. Could be wrong š
Anyway, as the years go by the suspension gets more & more stressed. I imagine the 2028 refresh will get new a front ball joint assemblyā¦
Hear Hear! I did not realize CoPilot 360 was an option and not standard on the XL Hybrid AWD. I agree with you that that option is a must have. Very useful!
I thought all EBās get the transmission cooler and the 4K did not add anything.
Youāre saying the EB 4K gets a bigger transmission cooler than the 2K or maybe the 2K gets no transmission cooler. Model year differences also?
Apologies to OP for continuing to go off topic. EB folks can be...
4K Tow Package:
EB gets a bigger fan & radiator for engine cooling (Coolant) but no additional cooling for the transmission.
Hybrid gets a transmission cooler (ATF Fluid) but no additional cooling for the Atkinson.
They both get the identical trailer connections though.
The Lobo gets the...
All the critical powertrain bits in the ābasicā AWD Hybrid are identical to those in the pricier models. You canāt go wrong with the XL in that regard:)
As far as anything else you need - budget some extra dough for aftermarket stuff like a tonneau cover ($500) & paint ($50) for the neat...
Ford upgraded the HF45 eCVT to a more rugged HF55 eCVT to handle the 4K Tow demands. Iām guessing the 2K also gets the improved eCVT - but maybe not with the transmission cooling?
Thank you for posting the NHTSA report! That must be fresh off the press:)
Edit - The defect originated at the Hermosillo Stamping Plant across from the Main Assembly Line. Just fyi..,
The Chassis Team did not inspect over one million vehicles. They inspected 3 that had the problem.
Hopefully Ford will soon release how to visually check to see if there is a defect? Many of us like to get under our Mavericks and take pics:)
So far 2 forum members have noticed their trucks on...
Great advice. My 2025 manual shows the triangle with exclamation point a as āSafety Alertā.
Does not explain the āLOā though.
A triangle with a ālightning boltā indicates an electrical issueā¦
You need to account for mph.
For example, drive 100 miles at 50mph, turn around at drive back at 100mph. Your average mph is 66 not 75.
If you drove longer (time) at 15 mpg than at 42mpg - the average will be skewed more towards the 15mpg. Bring a stopwatch next time;)
Edit - like matmoto...
Iām not disagreeing with you.
Itās just that your earlier ādrop in the bucketā comment just made me imagine careening through the guardrail of my local canyon road and thinking briefly while airborne āoh well, Iām just a dropā :)
Yes, this is a small recall (so far). But it is the most...
Torture Tests are made to find potential defects. Maybe driving up and down concrete steps repeatedly tweaked the ball joint/control arm that is now involved in the recall?
āLetās take a sample of 1% and see what we discover? Letās pick these VINāsā
Yes, I knew the eCVT was more reliable than the automatic when I chose my Lobo. But hey, as I shift through the gears with my paddles (listening to the rpmās rise & fall) - I am very happy:) Also have a robust powertrain warranty & extended warranty.
Finally, the torque vectoring RDU is not...
Maybe the 1% is just a random sample for Ford to analyze? If only 1% of the 1% sample is defective - Ford might be able to negotiate with NHTSA to avoid a total recall for all of us.
Cāmon Darryl, a 1% failure rate on a critical safety item is catastrophic - both according to Ford QC and the NHTSA. Half a percent would cause a recall in this situation.
Ford is saying ādonāt drive it - weāll come tow itā for a reason.
I do find it very interesting that they can identify...
