Tremor wheels -- anyone paint the wheels black and leave the orange pocket?

Has anyone tried painting the rims black and leaving the orange pocket? I'm very curious as to how that might look. If not, can anybody CGI a black rim with the orange pocket? The bronze just seems out of place. My other option is to paint the rims all black. Probably glossy black. I'm just not thrilled with how they look now.

I think painting your wheels black would nice! Could leave the orange if you like but I'm not to much of a fan myself. I would like to paint the orange metallic blue and leave the grey (have a grey truck). Either way, you can't go wrong.

Yes. Exactly. Thank you! That looks soo much better. They should come like that from the factory. I was originally thinking glossy, but now I think satin would look better.

That does look good. I will say that I've got the Tremor Appearance Package and I appreciate how the grey on the wheels ties in the grey on the mirror caps and on the roof; I think it's a nicely coordinated detail as the eyes scan from top to bottom of the truck.

For an all-black Tremor the black rims w/ the inset would be a power move.

Years from now I may consider painting all the pockets orange. I possibly even the whole wheel. Would look way cooler.

Now I'm really unsure what to do. I didn't think I'd like it this much. I could just paint everything black and that would look good, but the orange pocket really sets off the black truck and black rims. I'm surprised nobody has done anything creative with the wheel colors yet. I guess everyone just leaves them the way they are or replaces them.

What ever color or tone one want's on their Tremor's rims it would be wise not to paint it your self but to have them professionally powder coated. Paint will never hold up to road acids or salt over time.

This is why I don't even bother painting exterior trim things and accessories anymore. I had some LCA plates powder coated on a previous Tacoma to match the OEM skid plate.

Admittedly, mostly for looks, but the quality in comparison to anything I could have done myself was night and day. I think powdercoating some wheels can be done for under $600? I mean, obviously much cheaper if you DIY it and are good with a paint gun and baking. Just don't leave a thumbprint lol.

This is one of the reasons I turned down my Tremor order. I wasn’t convinced on the orange wheel accents from the start and just couldn’t commit when I saw them. Honestly my not sure why they did that to the mavericks when I haven’t seen any other Tremor Trucks from ford have that done to their wheels.

At first I did not like it however It has grown on me as not being so bad. I was surprised at individual's that did like the orange pockets. As far as it's purpose it's there to quickly identify where the valve stem is mainly in the dark of the evening coming off the beach when you have the air back up it works for people like myself who can't see small items that well in the dark.

Fairly easy edit to make, I'm just drawing a path around the wheel, orange section, and center cap in GIMP. Then I subtract the second two paths from the first and drop brightness/contrast until it looks right.
