Star knobs for t-slot bolt make easier Elevate Rack removal/storage

If you have Elevate Racks and occasionally remove them for periods of time, I found these star knobs on Amazon for $10 which thread onto the t-slot bolts in the rail and make it easier to just remove the racks only and keep those t-slot bolts in place for faster future rack re-install. The star knobs also have a center hole allowing the t-slot nut to be threaded on top and then you don’t have to worry about losing them during rack storage period.

will not work with the rack on due to inset slot where the nut threads on to the t-bolt.
I did find another use for them for attaching accessories on top of the rack. I created two crossbars with kayak carriers that attach up top in the t-slot track using the star knobs. Difficult to see the entire concept from the photos I have attached below, but it worked out to be a great solution for keeping my old Thule kayak holders that would not fit around the elevate rack bc it’s too wide.
