Too many hoops and chutes and ladders. Games like cash back and rebates and codes and creating yet another account for transactions with associated tracking and data collection “at not cost to you” is a huge shell game and I don’t have the bean counter’s fortitude to make it all work out in the end.
The “raucket” can keep their phantom savings carrot to dangle in front of someone else. Ford accessories are already 40% over priced compared to the oem that makes it for them.
I am in such an agreement with you! I was going to say the same thing but you beat me to it!!
You twos are the reason that these "shell games" can exist. When I maintained (mainly oil changes) more vehicles, I would find all the oil deals out there and stock up. Used to get full synthetic oil for free many, many times. Gotta play the rebate game, but it pays to play sometimes.
Free flights and hotels with credit card bonuses are easy to get and worth hundreds of bucks. For each Toyota we've bought, I've become an Uber "driver" (never gave anyone a ride) in order to save $750. Etc, etc.
It's not for everyone. I bought an XL Mav. Cash. So my cheapness "pays off"
