Plastic Headed Keys -
16.95 for 2 - https://amzn.to/3HNZe5h 43.21 Ford Factory Blank ( same Chip ) https://amzn.to/3jklzOD If you are wanting to do a "hide-a-key" this one is the one to use due to it being waterproof.

Does anyone know if either of the two plastic headed keys above would:
1) Start a 2024 Lariat Hybrid?
2) Just open the door?

I'm sure they wouldn't provide intelligent access, but if the RFID chip would allow starting and driving, then that would be really great for a hide-a-key option.

@Waterick , can you confirm this Single Remote (link) is the one you purchased? There were a couple different single remotes linked in the OP. I would like to be sure I'm getting the right one for my 2024 Lariat with Intelligent Access. (And hopefully this is the one you got, because the other is now unavailable.)

I tried
this one from eBay, but it only partially worked. Like you, I had to shorten the length of time the original keys stayed in the recess. The programming was then successful, but it will not work with Intelligent Access and the fob has to be physically in the center console depression in order for it to start the vehicle. In short, it kind of works, but it's effectively useless.

Thanks,
Andrew
I may have misled you in suggesting the Ebay FOB, I failed to consider that you may have remote start which requires a different FOB than my non remote start Lariat. Sorry about that.

It may work if placed in the key indention in the bottom of the center console, like a regular FOB with a dead battery.

No problem. It had a free return option. It's already in the mail back to the seller. They have acknowledged the tracking and I'll get credit in a day or two.

Thanks. I may give it (the plastic headed key) a try. If I do, I'll post back with the results.

Quick question after finding this: When programming the new keys and cycling the ignition, do you turn the truck completely on meaning engine running, or just into the accessory mode and don't have to cycle the engine?

Remember, you can only have four keys registered with the truck so you only have one slot left, and only the dealer can clear out the registered keys, ask how I know.

Turn it to the run position but don't start it.

Well, poo.

I can confirm that this one works with the 2024 Lariat with remote start. I bought two. I got one programmed. Unfortunately, on my previous eBay purchase the fob coded, but it simply would not work unless it was left in the center console depression. I returned it. So when I tried to program my second fob today, I got the message that I'd already programmed my maximum number of fobs.

How do I get the vehicle to forget the programmed fobs?

UPDATE: I just saw Hcopter's post (below).. We'll, poo again. I really only need one spare for my projectof making a thin fob. I was just hoping to have two, so I could hide away the two originals for safekeeping. But I'm not keen on paying a dealer $75 to remove the bad key. Maybe forscan will offer a solution at some point.

Has anybody got forscan to work to remove or replace fob's yet?

Also, has it been confirmed that you can only do four fobs since I only have three and can't get a fourth one to program?

You will get a message on the screen saying the maximum number of keys has been reached when you try to add a fifth key. If you're not getting that message then there's likely a different issue preventing the key from being added.

I'm not getting any message and the fob is not programming.
I don't recall having any problem with putting my third one on so now you have me questioning if the fourth one is in fact a bad unit?

I've now tried another 5th unit and cannot get it to program. After putting the two originals in I'm not seeing an indication of it being ready to program a third or fourth. Are you using it on a 24 Lariat?

Ok, slightly off subject but i have an XLT and I hate the switchblade for the ignition! I would much rather have a traditional key for the ignition and the fob for locking/unlocking, and remote start. Can I do this? I saw the links for the Amazon key blanks but they have several bad reviews.
