A black Maverick never crossed my mind. I really didn't know how I'd like it with the blue inside and never jumped out at me in pictures. Today I saw my first one in person on a dealer lot and it really was nice. It's also loaded, so I'm going to call tomorrow and see if it's available. If so, I might forfeit my 24 order and buy this one. Looking at the pics in this thread has me getting more excited about the idea!

We should name this group the Car Wash Club. Love the black look, not the maintenance. Might need to replace my Netflix subscription with a car wash subscription!

FYI, below is the long email response I got from the ceramic coat company about how to maintain your vehicles paint job. Some of the points are useful, some are not realistic!

Q: from the perspective of hand washing/waxing the vehicle, what products can be used?
A: Wash Mitt or Sponge.
If you are wondering why we did not include brush in this question it is because it is difficult to find a car wash brush that will not scratch your paint when you use it. If you are lucky enough to find a professional car wash brush (especially useful when washing trucks, vans, and SUVs) then you can use a car wash brush. If you are looking for a car wash brush, make sure that the end of bristles on the brush are split and frayed.
Ideally wash your vehicle with a high pile wash mitt. Use one wash mitt for the painted surfaces and glass of your vehicle and a separate wash mitt (and smaller soap pail) for washing your tires and rims. There are wash mitts that have the high pile (lamb's wool look) side and a nylon weave back side. This is highly effective for removing bugs and road grime from the front facing surfaces of your vehicle (bumper, grill, windshield, side view mirrors). If you drop the wash mitt on the ground, do not continue to use it. High pressure wash it to remove any grit and then continue washing.
Car wash sponges cover a lot of area, but they hold onto grit and although they cover a lot of surface, they are very abrasive and are easily dropped on the ground. If you drop a sponge, you will never get rid of all the embedded grit and then you will be effectively turning your painted surface into an “etch-a-sketch.”

Q: Waxing or polish?
A: If your vehicle was protected at time of sale with Diamond-Kote Paint Sealant or Diamond-Kote NanoCrystal Premium Paint Protection you do not need to wax your vehicle. However, please remember there is no “magic bullet” in the paint protection market. These products are designed to act as a protective and sacrificial barrier between the harsh elements of nature and your very thin and delicate paint finish. Automotive paint is about 5 mils thick at the most. A credit card is 30 mils thick. Wash and dry your vehicle as prescribed above and you will have years of your neighbours envying the finish on your vehicle. Should your vehicle accumulate exceptional amounts of pollutants and grime over time, Diamond-Kote Paint Restorer is designed to safely remove the contaminants and restore the original dealer applied paint protection coating to its original state.

Q: When should I wash my car?
A: This seems like such an obvious question, but the reality is washing your car at the wrong time of the year can do damage to the sheet metal and accelerate corrosion. Never wash your car if the temperature is going to be less than -5 Deg C. Water seeps into the seams of your doors, hood, trunk and or hatch and takes a while to either evaporate or run out. If this water freezes, water expands and will literally force the lower seams of your doors etc. apart. Water is also a remarkable conductor of electrical current. Rust is an electrochemical process and salt laden water is the most efficient conductor of an electrical current.
You should wash your vehicle at least once a week and always remove bird droppings and tree sap as soon as you notice it. These contaminants are acidic and will (if let in the sun) burn right into the paint finish of your vehicle if you leave it there for more than 30 days.

Q: Can the vehicle be taken through a car wash without concern with any of the products used in this industry?
A: We recommend hand washing but you are certainly able to go through the car wash when required, both touchless or soft cloth would be alright to use (Touchless is recommended) if there are no degreasers or solvents included in the wash process.

Q: What products can be used to get difficult spots/stains or road salt from the painted surface without damaging the Diamond Kote and potentially voiding the warranty?
A: Again, we don’t recommend the use of any solvents or de-greasers so the best way to care for any dirt/spots etc. is to wash the vehicle with a car wash soap and wash mitt. Diamond-Kote Wash & Glow Car Shampoo is phosphate and solvent/silicone free and designed specifically to rejuvenate your vehicle paint every time you wash your vehicle but if your dealership doesn’t carry any then any department store sells car wash soap.

I wasn’t a fan of the wheels that came with the BAP by design and lack of contrast with the rest of the vehicle. After looking at many different options, I settled on Relations Race Wheels 17” RR5-S in matte bronze. I chose 245/65r17 Nitto Nomad Grapplers as that size seemed to have a nice fit with stock and lifted suspension after looking through photos on here. The tires have been great so far, but another test will come with more significant snowfall and ice.

Born as a 2023 XLT Lux. Tremor Apearance Plus pkg. I “think” I’m done with my changes..🤣
Items changes/added:

Interior-
-Katzkins covers. I chose Blue with the Ash center and stitching. Then had a local upholstery shop add “Tremor” to the head rest. The Blue and Ash seems to match the interior color well. Local Katzkins dealer installed.
- Matte Black radio and center console trim. Purchased off EBay.

Mechanical-
-AFE side dump exhaust. For sure noticeable at start. Driving barely noticed.
-AFE CAI. Fits nice.
-Flatout GR Plus suspension. Quality and customer response 10/10. I added close to an inch over the Tremor OEM height. Still dialing in the rebound settings and even spring preload. Remember the shocks give 2 inches more travel than OEM.
-Mickey Thompson Baja 245/65/17. Zero rub. To me, this tire size fits perfect for my build.
-Enkei Overland wheels. 17x7.5 +35. OEM bore hub, no hub adapters.

Exterior-
-Painted front tow hooks and center grill bar Blue. Painted center grill bar surrounding Body color Black. Had to pull front bumper/grill.
-Ford accessories hood scoop. Had it painted body color. Also made 5 Hp on dyno. 🤣
-Ford accessories tailgate appliqué. Body color painted.
-Ford accessories hard roll up tonneau cover.
-Ford accessories bed mat and tailgate protector, tailgate dampener.
-All the Blue graphics, hood, “Tremor”, tailgate letters done by local graphics company.
-Roof wrapped in Satin/matte Black
-Mirror caps painted body color.
-Laminex Lower front running lights and front/rear Ford ovals.
-Fender badge, Off EBay. Waiting for Air Designs fender badge.
- Font windows tinted to match rear.
-Shorty radio antenna.
-Brake calipers painter Blue. Used POR-15.
-Filler panel around the hitch. Much cleaner look. Purchased from a member on the page.

I miss my shadow black Maverick, but I darn sure don't miss the cleaning. I just takes a toll on you after awhile that you absolutely cannot keep it clean no matter what. I really didn't want Oxford White, but I have no such issues with it. So, I am content. But many when the shadow black is cleaned up it's absolutely beautiful.

2500 mile trip down Baja and back in my hybrid. This truck blew me away how well it did on some of these Baja roads.

Anyone able to get the shadow black touch up paint pen? My dealer (in Ontario) says they’re on back order with no timeline for when they’ll get more.
