I enjoy repairing salvage motorcycles and stumbled on my new Maverick at the salvage yard. Looking forward to having such a wonderful truck. Thanks in advance for knowledge and advice.

What was the damage? Why was it totaled?

Frame - Right rear frame rail crushed in about an inch. $600

Parts - Right taillight assembly, rear bumper cover, bumper cover support rail, bumper impact absorber, parking sensors. $1,300

Bodywork - Tailgate and right quarter panel. $ TBD (I am guessing $1,000)

Purchase : $21,750 Repair estimate $3,000 All in maybe $25,000

What was it totaled? My guess is the frame damage. Even though I had it straightened, the unibody frame rail can never be made cosmetically perfect.

I know someone who bought a “totaled” maverick for $15K all in. Grill, bumber, airbags and headlights were the only thing damaged. Went to Mexico and got the parts for cheap. Oh yeah, it was also a Lariat Hybrid. Crazy
