I think this is probably my first time posting here, but I wanted to share my experience of upgrading my stock sound system on my XL. I kept the head factory unit. Of course that I added a thousand watt amp and replaced the front door speakers and tweeters with Rockford fosgate components. I also replaced the rear 4inch speaker driver in the rear. I hooked that amp up to both of those speaker systems and it has a built-in crossover so I was able to tweak it out pretty well. Behind the back seat I put in a rockford fosgate 10 inch sealed sub with a built-in amplifier and crossover with adjustments available in the front. All of this was done with putting insulation in the side panels on all the doors. Also have multiple fuse boxes inside the cap and under the hood to protect the battery and other electronics in the car. Please give me any feedback if you think this is a pretty decent setup. It was a fairly budget setup but it looks completely stealth and sounds really good.

BTW The only modifications I have made this far is getting my front windows tinted, I kept the exact same tires but spent about $800 with warranty on these rims and I did black glossy tailgate lettering.

Standard 25% tint trying to match the back windows as close as possible. Not ceramic, paid 80 in the Houston area.

I'm sure that's a massive upgrade, nice! (y)

a thousand watt amp seems like a lot for the front and rear speakers, since you also have a powered sub.

It is toned down quite a bit.

The Wattage on amps advertised is almost never accurate but it is toned down quite a bit for what the amp could do.

The amp will be powering all of it. The front speakers and the sub. I won’t have any speakers in the back seat other than the sub. It’s a smaller sub around 300watt rms I’m going for a sq system rather than a loud one
