This is my first time posting a thread, so please forgive me if I posted it in the wrong place.

I was attempting to hold-off on some mods until the summer season came around but I couldn't help myself. I'm quite pleased at how a few basic mods made the truck more enjoyable.

Anyways, does anyone know if the OEM bed mat will cause access issues to the bed cubby if the truck bed already has a spray-in bedliner? The bed mat looks very thick. I ordered the OEM bed mat with the FordPass points that I received after purchasing the Maverick and I'm hoping there won't be any issues accessing the cubby without having to cut the mat.

Also, my next project is doing a ceramic coat on the truck. This will be my first rodeo at doing this, so any tips and tricks from the experts out there will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

So far:

3M Crystalline tint (40% sides & rear, 70% front windshield)

Lasfit taillights and upper 3rd brake light

Rough Country tailgate assist

Auto-dimming mirror

Ceramic coating is easy, just be sure to do the prep work first (Very important). I would suggest watching several You tube videos on the subject. You will get a great education on the topic.
Nice Truck (doggies too) Best of luck!

Thank you for the tip. It seems that the prepping is the most important part of doing a ceramic coat. I've seen some videos where they mention doing a 32 hour paint correction prep...😬

Yikes, I think you can do it in a day. just wash, get rid of the iron, clay bar, polish/buff and clean again with alcohol/water solution, then install the Ceramic. Your truck should not require that much "Paint Correction".

What type of pad would you recommend for the polisher?

I have no idea, but I would use the lightest one you can find. (least abrasive). I hear the paint and clear coat are very thin on these trucks. That is why it is important to do it asap (at least here in Phoenix) I wish you all the best! and keep posting photos of your mods & dogs!

No issues accessing any compartments in the bed with a SIBL and factory (thick) mat.

My ceramic coat took 2 full (long) days of labor/prep on a 45 day old truck that I purposefully did not wash prior to avoid introducing any swirls.

One year later, the finish looks absolutely better than new.

Good luck.

Oh nice! As far as prepping, what are the steps that you took before applying the ceramic?

Sir, with the Lasfit LEDs are you using them in the upper stop light on cab? And also, where did you get the auto dimming mirror? And is there power readily available to power it?

I see some familiar Adams products. I use the same on my vehicles. Is the ceramic product Adam’s also?
Thanks and keep up the great mods

The steps I took were:
1) Picked up the telephone
2) Call my ceramic professional who does all my cars
3) Delivered my Maverick to him

Lol.. he washed, used an iron remover, clay bared, ~3 step polish, coated painted surfaces, coated plastic exterior parts, let cure, etc.... I think my truck was there for 4-5 days.

Good luck....

That is correct. I'm using the Lasfit led's for the brake light on top of the cab and on the brake/turn signals of the taillamps. I left the cargo and reverse lights alone. They are bright enough for me.

I purchased the dimming-mirror from the link someone posted here in MTC. I jumped on it right away after noticing it was being sold for only $12, plus shipping. It came with all the necessary hardware to be able to get installed right out of the box. It's basically a dimming mirror for a KIA but it fits and works perfectly with the Maverick. Many members here have installed it on their own Mavy's.

The ceramic coating kit is from Avalon King. It was recommended to me by a friend of a friend. I paid around $65 for it on their website using a discount code that was being offered by them (I don't know if it's still available).

I have used Adam's products on many of my vehicles for many years. They have good quality products at reasonable prices. It also helps that their HQ/shop is located nearby. Whenever I run out of something, I swing by their shop right away.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my thread. I appreciate it. Have a blessed week.
