A few months ago S&B used my truck to test their intake on my truck. At the time I had an AFE on my truck which was the best available. The moment Ryan pulled that beauty out of the box I knew it was game over. Bar none the best intake for the Ecoboost Maverick, PERIOD.

The stock intake is better than most of the warm air intakes on the market. The S&B takes it to another level.

Featuring a massive grill air scoop which feeds the extra large clear top air box. The air filter has an ID of 112mm or 4.4 inches (available in oiled or dry) connects to the smooth air tube and end with the industry’s first and only turbo inlet replacement at 80mm or 3.14 inches.

Basically this true Cold Air Intake took the OEM system and improved every part of it.

I’m running a presale which currently has almost 30 buyers and room for more. They are expected to ship end of May. In most cases a game changing intake would cost a premium but not in this case.

$349.99 SHIPPED
(your choice of oiled or dry)

PLEASE NOTE, NO ORDERS WILL SHIP TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. They are currently not CARB approved but S&B is working on it. Now enjoy this beautiful intake.

Of course it's not CARB legal. Neither is K&N, so I'll have to just keep my eyes open and hope you post an update for us residents of the Republik of Kalifornia.

Are there any rain diverters or dam? What is the design to mitigate water entry and filter soak? Looks like rain water will get sent directly to filter element at highway speeds? Any info is appreciated.
It looks to match up exactly where the stock air intake is right behind the solid part of the grill. It would seem that the stock intake would potentially ingest an equivalent amount of moisture. In fact, the stock system looks basically the same except for the window to the cone filter.

There is a massive difference in size.. The stock intake occupies about 1/3 of the width of the upper radiator shroud (linked TheWeatherman's photo of his engine bay with the EcoBoost Engine Cover as it's a great photo of the stock intake)...

This one is about the full width of the radiator shrowd.

The mounting tabs on both give you an idea of the relative difference in width.

Would the increased airflow reduce low end torque ?

pfffffff, i have no idea. I think in some of my opening questions I stated that I was largely uninformed... :D:ROFLMAO::LOL: I've been asking the Fast Maverick dude questions about the product (noise, particulate filtering, etc...), but no answers.

I believe the question was about water intake. Yes, the new intake area spans the full length of the top connection, but both appear to be tucked up behind the solid part of the grill, so they would both be protected equally from from water getting in.

I was told that the intakes should be completed by end of this month. I asked Ryan at S&B to please get me at least one by end of this month so we can do a few before and after runs on the dyno at the meet I’m hosting on the 28th.

You said once the intake came in, you'd be getting the measurements for the catch can distance, right?
