SPONSOR SUPPORT FOR MAVERICKS at CARLISLE:

On a whim, I decided to contact all the companies listed as sponsors on the MTC forum, seeing if they would be interested in supporting our gathering at the Carlisle Ford Nationals in some way.

The response has been encouraging.

Both Muslogy Auto and Mabett — who sell nice accessory items — will be sending some really nice products for either gift bags (for first 25 registrants!) or a prize drawing.

I’ve also heard from:

All thanked me for asking them to be involved , and are getting back to me with what they will be able to provide in the way of sponsorship and support for our gathering.

So. There’s that.
Thanks for taking the ball and running with it.

Thanks Kim. This event will be a blast, no guarantee, but I will try and get some more Ford pamplet covers.

Woo hoo! Thanks, Mike! We are inching toward our goal of 25 Mavs preregistered under Maverick Truck Club by April 18, to qualify for the free club tent.

We have 12 “definitely”s, either already registered or gonnas … and other 7 “hope so’s,” so that’s 19 if the “hope so’s” come through.

***** I am working on getting support from the companies who are sponsors of the MTC site, and have had encouraging response so far.

Details to come, but I can promise you this: If you are among the first 25 to preregister for Carlise Ford as part of the Mavsrick Truck Club, you WILL be getting a FREE “swag bag” of stuff from our sponsors,.

And other stuff — items of significant value — is beng contributed for a prize drawing on Saturday afternoon.

Stay tuned — And really, you do NOT want to miss this event!
My buddy owns 3 dealerships in Virginia one being Ford. Im checking to see if he has some Ford banners or Ford paraphernalia to help decorate our area.

We are only a week into this thread and I think we are all doing a pretty good job of working it, especially Kim, thanks!

Hey, that would be great!

And if he has any merch he’d like to donate and/or get rid of (Ford hats, shirts, etc.) we’d name him as a sponsor on our sign and use the stuff for our prize drawing.

I highly recommend pre-registration so your entry decals and other materials get mailed to you.

For the folks who pre-registered but who have not previously attended Carlisle, you can avoid the worst of pre- and post-show traffic by utilizing Gate 5 as long as you have the show decal on your windshield. Gate 3 (the main entrance and the only one open to those needing to register on arrival) gets very backed up.

We stay in Mechanicsburg and go to Carlisle via 641, Army Headquarters Dr., Claremont Road, and Post Road. Post Road brings us out to Rt. 11 (Harrisburg Pike), where we turn left, then make the very next right on Cavalry Road. Gate 5 is on the left just before you cross the bridge over the freeway.

Fair warning - Harrisburg Pike will be stop and go all through Carlisle on Friday and Saturday before and after each show day. There are alternate routes that parallel both sides of Harrisburg Pike. We always use those; the one described above coming in from the hotel and a different one via Gate 3 returning to the hotel in the evening. We spend a lot less time sitting in traffic that way. Google Maps is very much your friend for finding and using those alternatives.

This is my antique cooler with my added emblems. Not quite a Cactus Grey but close.

YEP to all that! Great advice. Big show at big fairgrounds … in a fairly small town.

That’s why having our Maverick Truck Club tent makes attending this big event a better experience. Once you get to the show, you can relax and take your time exploring it, because you have a place to sit and hangout whenever you want all day.

@CTYankee — Are you with us?

I've been attending for 16 years or so now, always with the Cougar Clubs of New England, NJ/PA, and DelMarVa. This year I'll be bringing a 1993 Lightning and a 1968 Cougar, but I plan to stop by and check out all your Mavericks. Mine will have to stay home, unfortunately.

Thanks for that great tip. I was looking at Google Earth the other day and was wondering about a back way in...

Cougars be cool — And they’re celebrating 30 yrs of the Lightning, right? So good choice.

Do stop by and say “hi”! And thanks for the Carlisle nav tips.
