with some more mods! My dad and I bought several mods for Christmas for my Maverick and I just got finished with having all of them installed. I knew this would be the week that my Maverick receives some drastic changes. I'm very happy with how everything turned out. One install I did myself whereas the other two were done at the dealership.
Mod #1: Truxedo TruXport Soft Roll-Up Tonneau Cover
I've been wanting to do this for so long and finally got around to it. This was a dealer install. I originally wanted to get a hard tonneau but they were out of my price range. A factory OEM or similar will run well over $1000! So instead I found a good deal on a Truxedo soft roll-up on Amazon Prime for only $353.00. What's great is that when it's rolled up, I have full access to the bed. However, the main reason I got it was so that the bed can stay clean and protected when not in use and to keep prying eyes from seeing what's inside it. This way I can safely make other stops while having cargo in the bed. It does need some time to take shape since the fitment is not perfect. The passenger side does not stick as well as the driver side but that's probably from being rolled up in the box. Once it's out in the heat, it will help warp it into shape and give it some flex.
Mod #2: Mud Flaps
Yet again, this is something I've been wanting to do for so long and finally got around to doing so. This was also a dealer install. I'm so sick of mud splatter getting all over the front and rear lower quarters. Hopefully this will help ease the issue. I don't expect it to be fully effective but it will serve its purpose. I mainly got these because of the look. To me, it makes the truck look tougher and more utilitarian. And it was cheap enough. I do need to hit them with some Armor All because they're not quite as dark as the plastic trim so they'll need to be blended in.
Mod #3: LED Third Brake Light/Cargo Light Conversion
I'm so happy with how this turned out! This I did myself. Thanks to the power of Youtube, I simply watched a DIY video, bought the correct bulbs, and it was just a matter of plug and play. Now the truck has the appropriate lighting it should've had from the get-go. I love the blueish-white LED hue they give off. I couldn't stand the yellow hue of the factory bulbs. Those made it so ugly and dated. Plus, LEDs last longer and burn much cooler. What's strange is that the Lariats were supposed to get an LED third brake light from the factory according to my window sticker. But it never fell into fruition. Kinda bit of false advertising. Here's my proof...
I wonder what happened. But whatever the case, I fixed it myself. It only cost me $27.00. Here's the link for anyone who is interested: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082GNDMT8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Now the Maverick mods are officially complete. Just these simple upgrades completely transform the truck. I plan on keeping this thing for awhile which is the reason for all of this. This is the first time I've ever special-ordered a vehicle and as a result, I want to have fun with it and make it even more enjoyable. Ford did such a great job with the Maverick overall. Everything from price to looks to value proposition and utility. Thank you very much for viewing and I hope you enjoyed. To all of you waiting on your '23 Mavericks, it will be well worth the wait. Have fun when it arrives!
