I'm not trying to be mean or anything. But if you are spending $34,000 plus taxes and that gas mileage hit, wouldn't a Ranger be a better buy?

Yeah I wasn't expecting that much of a hit.. may have to look into a tune instead of sound.
What is the regular EB fuel rating again? I get mid 26's out of mine typically. So I don't think that is a huge hit really. A hit though for sure.

Similarly optioned Ranger would be WAY more than $34K
I'm not thinking of options. More of the base. Like what you actually get. But for $30,000 plus I would look into getting a bigger truck than a small truck with bells and whistles.

Im have plan pricing.... also I greatly prefer the Maverick and at the price point you're not getting into a new Ranger with these options. Yes the mpg isn't what I wanted, but a tune should definitely help. And the awd is what I was really after went tremor to have a beefier styling..

Some people don't want a bigger truck. Just because you get more lbs of truck for the same money, doesn't mean it's a better buy. My Mav is optioned to about $38k - I could find an F-150 for that, especially if I'm ok with basic equipment. That's 👏 not 👏 what 👏 I 👏 want.

Build week is set for 12/12. Original order was 9/17/22. Build was rescheduled once to a sooner date from 12/19.

I traded in my 2015 Chevy Silverado Z71 for my XLT hybrid Maverick 18 around town and 22on the road . It had the 5.3 in it and it would run on 4 cylinders or 8 cylinders. Has EPA changed the way they rate mileage ??🤔

I noticed something that struck me as unusual about the '22 Mavericks and their EPA fuel economy. I've mostly purchased and driven Hondas over the past several years, so I'll use them as an example: When one looks at manufacturer's websites, they frequently post different EPA fuel economy numbers for different trim levels of the same model vehicle. Sometimes the difference is attributable to different drivetrains/transmissions, but frequently the only material difference is the size of the wheels & tires, and maybe a little weight between trim versions. Example: 2023 Honda Civic Sedan, EX is 33/42/36, and Touring is 31/38/34. They list the same engine/transmission. There is a 73 lb difference in their weight. It stands to reason that the version with larger wheels/tires would generate reduced fuel economy, so I guess Honda (and others) run each trim level on its own EPA cycle.

I remember when I started looking at Mavericks last year, it struck me as odd that all 2022 Maverick trim levels for each powertrain listed the same fuel economy, even though there was some variation in the available wheel and tire options. I guess Ford wasn't required to test each trim level with each wheel/tire combination, so they didn't. Personally, I struggle to get anywhere near Ford's posted EB city economy numbers, and I easily sail past their published highway numbers (on 17s).
