Driving a back road to go out to dinner. Near dusk. Then this happened.

I was seeing the pickup's life flash right before my eyes. Thought we were done for. Luckily applied the brakes in time.

had one like that on my road bike, one in front and one in back. Saw them coming and had it covered, what nearly wrecked me was the wife scream in my ear.

A few years ago I missed an elk in my old Ranger doing about 60. Clipped it's ear on my driver's rear view mirror. Left some ear fuzz on the back side. I was very lucky. Big pucker factor.

I know that deer wasnt crossing a road he was racing the train to the crossing. Probably running from wolves. He was moving though.

I hit a deer with my Maverick a few months ago. Took a month to fix and 6000 dollars. Lots of plastic

You’re definitely lucky my experience has been them dang deer never travel alone. I wasn’t so lucky last year in my maverick (headlight, bumper cover, grill, fender, and the grill shutters) but wasn’t too bad that I continued driving until parts arrived (a few months). And whilst in body shop I had them paint my tow hooks red to cheer me up (painted grill bar too, but I didn’t install it as my truck is black it wasn’t better in my opinion I got another gray xlt bar).

It's rut season for these pain in the arse creatures. They are completely out of their minds during the rut. Here in the Ozarks of MO I will only drive between 9am and 3pm. It's that bad here. I wish the state allowed year round deer hunting. There's way too many of them.

With the overpopulation of deer I think the state should pay hunters to take deer instead of the other way around!
