Hello Everyone,

After taking possession of my cyber orange XLT Eco boos Maverick with AWD and co-pilot 360, spray in bedliner, interior outlet...

I was offered a new job that grants me a company vehicle with a company fuel card for work and personal use. I cannot justify a car payment for a car I won't ever use. And with the way gas is, it's a no brainer to sell.

I was one of the lucky ones who only had to wait 6 months from the time of order.

Anyone have any tips on the best place to sell? I've seen a few on Carvana with less specs then mine going for $42k. Luckily, my dealer didn't add a markup, so I'm not under water.

Also, if anyone is in California. I highly recommend Fullerton Ford. A veteran owned dealership who stands by their word. This was the best dealership experience I have ever had.

Just the gas savings is are worth it. Probably make up for the truck payment. Good luck with your sale. There is some dumb ass that will pay 42K for a Maverick.

My wife said the same thing, but my frugal mind can't justify paying for somthing I'm not using.

I'm not looking for a profit of any kind. I see what dealers are selling lower trims for and just don't want to get screwed over selling it to a dealer, who won't even offer me enough to cover the loan.

The used market is crazy and it's in demand. So who knows what will happen.

Why wouldn’t you want to make a profit? Carmax, carvana, vroom, givemethevin.com. Shop it to all of them. Sell it to the highest bidder. You will make a profit.

It's not that I wouldn't want to make a few bucks, but I have my doubts about how much a dealer would offer me, since they too are looking to profit.

Morally, I could take a profit from a dealer, but if I had to sell 3rd party, I couldn't do it. My damn conscious gets in the way.

Have you had any luck with the likes of Vroom or Carvana? I've heard horror stories with them never paying off the loan on a vehicle affecting people's credits.

If your dealer did such a good job and was straight with you during the purchase, why not offer it to them a K or two and see what happens.

Hmm, I actually didn't think about that. I can definitely hit up my sales guy and see what's up. There's only 2k miles on it 🤣.

I would be getting quotes from Carvana/Vroom/Tred/Carmax with the quickness- Low stress, hassle free pickup and a check cut although I personally have never bought or sold thru them but that process does seem pretty painless-

Makes me wish I put my order in with Fullerton Ford instead of Sunrise. I had no added markup, but 2k in dealer add ins.

totally understand about being frugal. I went from two years ago having two paid off cars and being debt free to now having a Mustang Mach E and a Maverick to pay off. Then we’re planning to totally renovate/ remodel a house in Fullerton. That’s gonna be major $$$. Not to mention a one year old that will continue get more expensive as he gets older. Such is life though.

It takes like 45 seconds to get a firm offer from carvana. Vroom is pretty quick and easy as well.

If times get tough, I don’t care how much Carvana or Remax offers, don’t sell your one year-old.

A private sale will bring you a lot more money for not much additional effort. I sold an old Honda Fit that I listed on CarGurus.com and Facebook Marketplace in about a week, with only one showing. I'd think that a new Maverick would go even faster. To make it easier on yourself, be up front in the ad with how you want to handle the transaction--including payment terms, whether you'll ship (not recommended), etc. While my buyer bought with cash, CarGurus.com has a pretty cool payment system that protects sellers and buyers.

If you decide to just list it somewhere, only meet people at the police station parking lot in the daytime. Good idea when you are selling anything.
