Aren't they in reality 2-year extended warranties? If it's a 5-year and runs concurrently with the 3/36 btb factory warranty, then you would just get two more years. Does it cover things the btb warranty does not? If not, I wonder what the cost is if you buy one just before the 3/36 expires in order to get the extra 5-years of coverage on top of the 3/36??? JAT
The Ford offered warranties start when the vehicle goes into service. It doesn’t matter when you buy it. It is marketed as 5 year, and it is, but really a +2/3/4 (whatever you opt for). If you wait, the down side is price increases on the plan. The plan prices go up after the vehicle is one year old and Ford also raises the prices yearly.

go here to price things out

Yes, though depending on how much you drive and your willingness to pay a small deductible, the costs seem to be pretty reasonable in the 6-7 year total range with $100-200 deductible. We don't drive a ton so an 85 or 100k 6/7 year looks to be plenty of coverage - will wait to compare with the online places of course as well.

They all start with the "in service date". Advantage of buying when new is a rental vehicle is (there may be a "first day rental") usually covered up to a certain daily amount and the price of the ESP plan will undoubtably go up over time. You can choose the length of years in coverage as well as the mileage. If you drive say 10,000 miles a year and want coverage for 6years buy the 6year/60,000 mile plan, not the 6 year /100,000 mile plan (price varies and is more for longer time or mileage). ESP plans are also transferable and there used to be refund available if you cancel, not sure if still is. Deductible amount varies also, there is a "disappearing deductible" as well as zero, $50, $100 and more. ESP plans DO NOT cover as much as original BTB; spark plugs, wiper blades, light bulbs, even brakes and alignment may be covered under BTB for a limited time but never on ESP plans.

Are the prices listed an all-in-one price or are they annual costs.

Example: Premium Plan 8Y 36,000 miles with $50 deductible shows a cost of $565

So is the total cost $565 or $4,520 for this plan?
The $565 is the total cost, not yearly.
