My order was in July, back when the thought was the truck was coming in Oct. (remember those days, we were so young) Then I got word I had a VIN. Then maybe December! (So foolish) Just when I was about to give up I got the text. Then in January, my truck was delivered! (Cue that churchy Hallelujah chorus) Then I remembered the recall (bedliner spray in), way back before my truck shipped. Surely they wouldn't ship me one that they didn't bother to fix. Considering it left the 'building' phase way after that announcement.

So now. it's mid February and my Truck sits on the lot, waiting for a magic Flange on back order. I visit it like i'm the spouse of a prisoner.

My favourite is calling the Ford help phone and being told they'll reach out to the dealer... you know, that one thing I can do. Why phone ford, if not to get to ford? It's a closed 'stalling for time' loop.

I nicely tried to explain my perspective to the help line. I can overnight courier some from 20-80 bucks across the Continent in a couple days. Ford is still building Mavericks. The part exists. Unless there's some keebler elf situation where they magically build the exact amount every morning. My part could have been here, hell it could have beat the truck here. Therefore to ford, I'm not worth the cost to expedite.

The extra bonus is we're rolling into the 'looney clogging up borders' part of this weird timeline.

I tried reaching out to ford on facebook, insta, twitter... you know, doing the stuff that I hate, complaining on Social Media. The best words I got was from their twitter bot that congratulated me on my purchase, and thanking me for being a loyal customer. You know, that gang I'm trying to join by giving them money.

Maybe I'll drive by my truck this evening, see how it's holding up...

We just picked up our G70 from the dealership today after replacement of some cosmetic items in the interior. The original dealer visit was early October. The parts were on backorder.

Just because they're still building the G70 does not mean that they skip a build and send parts. We had to wait. What is happening to you is not unique. Take a breath, stop calling Ford, and wait. This is how it goes when parts are on backorder.

Yeah cosmetic items are not the same. Not by a long shot. Sorry you had to wait for your cosmetic pieces on a back order, whilst being able to drive your G70.

I'm visiting a truck I can't buy due to a backorder that was identified on recall before they shipped it. I know it's not unique, (Imagine if you could only posted unique things) and I never said it was. It's annoying. It's dumb. It's worth being annoyed over.

I'll take a breath, and further yell into the void that is Ford's customer service. thx

Is he or she like Candyman or Bloody Mary? Do I say 'Ford Rep' name three times while looking in a darkened bathroom mirror in order to summon them?

That's my way of saying I don't know who that is...

The "looney clogging up borders" part of this weird time line are Truck Drivers giving up their
livelihoods for what they believe in whether any of us agree or not. Guess who transports the parts you need for your Maverick, The "looney" Truck Driver.

Well at least you can touch it or see it. My Mav is still in the FORD's Guf, has VIN but not in production as of yet. Se la vie..
