Just went for a fill-up after work. Granted, my tank wasn't totally empty. I had about 75 miles of range left. After putting a fresh tank of Mobil 89 octane in, this was my estimated range...

Just over 500 miles! The most I've ever had! Just when I thought my 460 was good from last week, I get trumped the next week! Almost hybrid levels of range in an Ecoboost! I'm sure the range will drop like a stone the next time I drive it but still, impressive numbers out of a non-hybrid Maverick!

Come on.....that's about as FAKE INFO as you get on the interweb. To be fair and accurate, come back after you actually use the complete full tank and show the mileage accrued during that. Not a computer generated guess to guide you through your driving that will obviously change. I could come up with some crazy numbers with a full tank guesstamation. Social media is alive and well with click bait. Sad!

I have an actual example of a short trip in my hybrid traveling at a 50 mph SPEED LIMIT on a 2 lane open road with almost level ground with a couple of slight slopes. 68 miles per gallon. I was getting ready to create a post to ask other hybrid users what their best has been. At times, I can go a month before a fill up. I have also tried running out of gas and the vehicle got me 4 miles at 45 mph to the gas station no problem. Real life facts!

Thanks for helping reinforce my post in another thread about EV's.

A lot of people say "EV's are not practical unless they have 500 miles of range."

Cars and Small Trucks of the 1980's had about 250 miles of range, and ones in the 1990's had about 330 miles of range.

I'll bet millions of people found those useful.

Based on my 68 mpg trip with a 13.8 gallon tank, I should get 948 miles from one tank of gas. This is based on facts. While we all know this is not going to be possible, based on my one time data point, there it is. Actually on the trip there on the same road was approx 42 mpg. So still excellent but not the same. Based on the Ops observation, his Ecoboost would get 44 mph average. If that were the case, we'd be looking at a miracle and Ford would have something amazing for an ICE. I hate using that word right now. In the end the Hybrid beats it or why bother with all the complicated ove done mechanical and software stuff.

You completely blew my thread out of proportion. This was not intended to be fake. I was just innocently displaying a range estimate I never achieved before. My intentions were good. I even mentioned towards the end that I'm sure the range will drop like a stone, since I knew it wouldn't last long. I was just happy to see the number. Haters will hate, I guess.

Difference is it took 5 minutes to get another 250 miles.

Yes I may have been a little over the top but it's not a real number. I was surprised someone would make a big deal over something that is not an actual thing.
