I’m thinking about letting my go to repair shop do the maintenance at 1500 miles then every year in October.
What do you think?

That is how I do mine. Less than $200. at home. Engine/Filter,Trans,PTU,RA - I do it once a year @ about 5000 milesThat's my plan to do it yearly. I just did mine a couple weeks ago while doing my oil change. I think it was $140 just for fluids to change the trans, PTU, and RDU. It took me a little over an hour to do. Just do it while doing an oil change since you have the bottom cover off anyways.
Do you just refill the transmission fluid by 4.25 quarts? How do I level it? I don't think I am able to take the leveling plug off. That's my plan to do it yearly. Measure the quantity you drain - put that much in.Do you just refill the transmission fluid by 4.25 quarts? How do I level it? I don't think I am able to take the leveling plug off.
I over filled it 4.75 quarts. Drove it around for 15 min, i think my Torque app said the trans was 180F when i came back to check the fluid. Turn the wheels to the left and you can reach the fill level plug. I use the pump that I used for the PTU and RDU to pump a little extra fluid into the trans till a good flow was coming out of the hole and screwed the plug back in after the flow got to a trickle.Do you just refill the transmission fluid by 4.25 quarts? Was it a dealership or an independent shop?Bought my 2022 EB 1st edition Lariat last Feburary with 21k miles. Within 2 weeks I took it to my local service center and had all the fluids changed including the PTU RDU. Even had them drain the windshield washer fluid and change it out to new ( that was a freebie) Was right around $789.00 out the door. I also asked to see the PTU RDU fluid which they provided. The reason I did this was because I read a thread posted here about the metal break in contamination in the RDU PTU. And there was some metal shavings but not like what was shown in that post I referred to
The transmission fluid on the EcoBoost should be drained between 185 and 200 Fahrenheit. I'd be fine with 180, but just throwing it out there for other folks that are yet to change theirs.I over filled it 4.75 quarts. Independant shop...Here in Az the name is Sun Devil AutomotiveWas it a dealership or an independent shop?
I did it for 2 reasons. 1st I read a post on this forum regarding the metal shavings in the RDU PTU fluid that came off the line and now I set the benchmark knowing all is set it 21kOk,maybe I missed something but why are you all changing all the fluids so often?
I understand "checking" your trans fluid level at those temps, but why do you say it needs to be 180° to drain it?The transmission fluid on the EcoBoost should be drained between 185 and 200 Fahrenheit. I should have been more clear in what I said. I don't think temp matters much in the initial drain, but it does for when the leveling plug is opened.I understand "checking" your trans fluid level at those temps, but why do you say it needs to be 180° to drain it?
