It is longer than the actual opening and what is visible because there’s a cavity under the side panel. This is what made it easy to Instal the power button.

How sturdy is the lock?
How were you able to run power up to the rear view mirror? Would running a dash cam with hidden wiring be trivial as well?

I didn’t have have the right fuse tap with me so the wire is run around the headliner, inside the side post, under the glovebox, and to the 12v socket.The right tap came in this week so I’ll get my 12v socket back and will just fuse tap directly into the fuse panel.

Could be an option but not easily as it would require the removal of the sensor array and since I also have the moonroof I’ve lost a bit more space as well. I’ve put a rear view dash cam in all my vehicles and have always gone back to the fuse box for instal as I also tap into constant power with a cut off switch so trying to sneak that into a headliner is an absolute nightmare.

i have a nice F/R dash cam, but it would be really nice to get the day/night mirror, dashcam and garage door opener all in one unit.

Only get one or the other. If you do ever find one though let me know as I’ve looked everywhere over many years for this type of setup.

Passenger Side top left top corner of the rear window. The image misses a small section of the passenger side of the truck that would normally be visible if it was mounted in the middle but I also have the rear window so that wasn't an option. Also nice because it captures the bed so if anyone tried to cut the top and take something they will be on video. Also nice to when stuff is in the back as the camera captures the whole bed as well so you don't have to look over your shoulder when traveling just have to look up at the camera.
