Wiring truck cap lock to the tailgate lock?

I'm looking into getting a truck cap, and one of the features I'm looking for is a electronic lock that hooks into the tailgate lock, so that when I lock/unlock my truck, the truck cap locks/unlocks as well.

I've seen some posts on the F-150 forums that seem pretty involved (at least one poster just gave up and leaves his cap unlocked), and it looks like Leer is the only option that has a glass rear window with electronic locks.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Leer gave me a wiring diagram for my truck cap locks and brake light. I didn't let them wire it up as the did an absolute horrible job on my ranger. I wired mine through the tailgate lock and have had zero issues since I did it. The third brake light I had to run the wire into the cab, as I didn't want it to flash with a turn signal.
