Thanks. I already use a Motorola MA1 for my Pixel 6 pro. I just jail broke my 13 mini iPhone and was considering getting a Wi-Fi adapter to use it occasionally. It's on my free Sprint unlimited on us line.I've had zero issues with disconnecting, or with sound from the one I purchased. (I have had a few Sync 3 "freeze" or "restart" issues, but that was independent of the Car Play adapter, and they seem to have gone away following the most recent Sync 3 software update.) I just unboxed the device, followed their directions to upgrade the firmware, plugged it in, paired to the Bluetooth, connected to the device's Wi-Fi, and it just worked.
I'm an Apple user, and I bought the one that is now "unavailable" precisely because most of the Apple user reviews were good. I paid little attention to the 'bad' reviews that were either A) obvious user errors, or B) from Android users. I'm unlikely to ever own an Android phone or tablet.
That said, I have no experience at all with the newer TNVTEC device you referenced at the end of your post... But again looking at the reviews, it looks like most of the bad reviews are from Android device users, so if that's you, maybe a different product would be better. Apple device users seem to be relatively happy with it. YMMV
