Was pretty ticked off at Ford today. No movement on my order (yeah, I know, it's a January order, but still almost 8 months and still not even on the production calendar), and sort of resigned to being pushed to MY23. On top of that, my 2006 Cadillac Escalade with almost 230,000 is due for inspection, and I found out from my mechanic that with some new brakes, a couple ball joints and some other odds and ends, I'm now in for $1,300 to keep it on the road another year. I'd have much rather given that money to my dealer toward my new Maverick, but under the circumstances I have little choice.

So, with that said, figured it couldn't hurt to call Ford customer service and vent. Explained to "Brad," the customer service agent that at this point, I'm looking at spring of 2023 BEST CASE SCENARIO for delivery of my Maverick. And that's assuming they schedule me early in the MY23 production year. If it gets built in Mexico by January, maybe I see it in March. More likely well after that.

Anyway, I asked Brad, isn't there SOMETHING you can do for me? ANYTHING? After all, I knew from others on this forum that Ford will offer a $100 merch credit in some instances, and that's exactly what I got. As I told Brad, "Well, it isn't a pickup truck, but at least I got something out of you."

And tomorrow morning, I'll pick up my Escalade from the mechanic and give him $1,300...
