Has anyone else noticed how strangely water pools on their hood? The dew formed two 6 inch wide puddles on my hood that danced around as I drove. They fell to the front and then essentially exploded back onto the windshield when I braked. It was kind of cool to watch.

Somebody actually posted a video of this exact thing. It seems like a combination of hood design and physics conspiring to allow water to pool where it would normally run or get blown off.

Seems to be a common occurrence with certain hood types and incoming wind speed. My '16 F150 did the same thing

My Tacoma does the same thing. I think it's because how many trucks have a very flat hood compared to a sedan/coupe/crossover that has a much greater rake between the front bumper and the windshield.

It does save me a lot of window washer fluid.

Wax or ceramic coat will help with that problem.
