Maybe more than a week (dealer said "week or two") as my order is now in the Ford system.

The stages according to them is:

1. Confirmation that your order has been accepted in the Ford order system. Where I am today.
2. Creation of and confirmation of VIN assigned to order.
3. Wait for manufacture/ship/delivery.
4. Take delivery.

Once a VIN has been assigned you can no longer change your order.

Yeah, I think Albert @Granger Ford said something about the order “previewing” which means it’s being scheduled so you can’t change it. It happens concurrently with the VIN assignment, I believe. I wouldn’t have thought it would have been so soon, but cool beans.
