Trying to figure out the correct APP to use SYNC

Was trying to set up text messages on my iPhone to work with my Maverick and it indicated I need to configure SYNC on my device. Looked and there is a number of different apps in the Apple store. Is there one specific one I should be using?

There are no special apps. It's all built in and instructions are in the manual ( around page 390 ). Just pair your iPhone to the Sync system using your Bluetooth. You should then be able to make phone calls and listen to messages.

SYNC is built into Lariat trim level Mavericks.

OK. That's what I figured but not sure why it wasn't working. Bluetooth synced. The phone is synced and works for calls. It synced contacts. It wouldn't do text messages though.
