We got it. FINALLY! She got in, inspected the interior, and fiddled with the knobs and buttons while I was under the hood, under the truck, and in the bed. Paid for it and haven't seen her since. If I'd known all it would take was around $30k to get rid of her, I would have asked Ford to make this truck YEARS ago. 😁😁 If she decides to return home I hope to drive it tomorrow. For now, she has a new love interest.

Congrats on the purchase but $30K for an XL? I'll be honest bro that seems a little steep but if you guys are happy that's what matters.

That's with tax and an extended warranty.

My opinion after driving it for 14 miles. The wifey doesn't like being a passenger! It feels like a full size pickup from the inside. Road noise isn't as bad as the Outlander we had but rides rougher as we expected from a pickup. The interior is quite utilitarian and seems cleaning it should be easier than with fabric everywhere. Damn near went deaf when hitting the wrong radio buttons, but around town the radio was clear on several stations. Back seats feel somewhat firmer than the front but since I won't be riding in the back, they are fine. I like having the phone mic right next to the driver and conversations are much easier to understand without resorting to yelling to be heard. Speaking in a normal voice is quite sufficient. The weather is beautiful today so we decided to open the sun roof which we really didn't want. It was actually nice having it, but with the sun high in the sky I rolled it forward and kicked the back end up to reduce the heat I felt on my skin. Definitely going to get it tinted as dark as possible! Might as well use it since we have it. Wifey, who is on the road again, just let me know she wants cruise control installed. Another damn project for me so I will look at the Rostra unit. One thing we both like is the turn radius. After having a NIssan Desert Runner that couldn't make a U-turn on a two lane road without having to stop, back up, and then complete it, the Maverick did it in one try. Yes we did use the shoulder on the opposite side , but one full turn finished it. That's about all for the short drive she allowed me but hope to sneak some more driving in along with more reviews. Also waiting for the window guards and tri-fold bed cover to arrive.

Don't text and drive! Something I believe in. Why does the center display pop up "You have a text message. Open?" Or something to that effect. I saw it last night.

Because you can have your texts read to you while driving and then respond by voice. Texting and driving has become a lot safer as long as you’re not physically holding your phone to do it.

Congrats on the truck, you definitely got the best color available.

Install factory cruise. Much easier installation than aftermarket.

How much was that extended warranty?? Was there also ADM?

I did not know that. Voice recognition is that good now?

No dealer markup. They stuck to the MSRP! The extended warranty ran a little under $3000 and covers everything bumper to bumper. Now, the cruise control..... If I install it using the switch replacing the radio controls and then do the computer thingy, the entire steering column and steering wheel warranty is VOID. Looks like Rostra will be the way to go for us.

Disagree. Rostra is MUCH more invasive.

Plus you can put it all back to stock. Rostra you'll have new holes drilled.

In other words, if they were to void your warranty for one they would the other. And I don't think they will.

The truck can always be refreshed back "as built". In fact you can download the AS BUILT data right from Ford.

No way changing the switches voids the warranty.

Hmmmmm, going to look into that. The Rostra requires wire splicing and soldering which I can do, but swapping out a switch is easier. The reprogramming concerns me, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I've done many a reprogram with forscan. You got all you need right here in the forums.

The hardest part of the swap is unscrewing the battery terminal.
