Tailgate stuck closed — possible solution

Howdy. It’s been a while since online with MTC.I ended up with several large pieces of furniture trapped in the bed of my truck. Long story short: some damaged items.
The solution is to gain access to the inner removable panel and reposition a dinky spring. So much frustration for a dinky constructed part.
Remove cover, rotate lock mechanism, tailgate will open.

Beats the h3ll out of me. Eighty+ miles between closing it, and it not opening.
Perhaps F.O.R.D. gremlin got me, but it’s ‘dinky’ for certain. I’ll see if able to upload some video.
