I called my dealer, and they have a Lariat Tremor EcoBoost on order same color and config as the one I have on order. It shows up on their website and has a VIN but is marked "In Transit". They indicated it would be likely arriving in the 2nd week of September so that's the good news.
The bad news is they tried the upsell of spray-in bed liner ($575) and tinted Windows ($500). When I explained I expect the Tremor to include the bed liner from the factory they had to check but concluded they weren't sure if it will arrive with the bedliner included. It feels like a scam like someone else posted about except I'm not going to pay for it. I told the salesperson that I wouldn't pay over MSRP to get something that is supposed to be included. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, this may be the only lariat tremor the dealer has ever ordered and they are just going on what the window sticker shows.
But the nice thing about talking over the phone, its easy to "walk-away" virtually. Bottom line is if it has the bed-liner as it should I have first claim on it. I said no to the tint also.
I hope to get the one arriving soon, but otherwise the backup plan is to just wait for my pre-order.
