Had to post this here and recognize a great, honest dealer. I read so many negative dealer experiences, and ours was 180 degrees opposite all I’ve read here. From our initial contact to purchase and follow-up by dealer, they have been great. Review of truck here —>Maverick
We initially went to Delray Ford and Ford Pompano beach and had very negative experiences. This is really my wife’s car which I borrow for towing and weekend ”honey do” duties, so she went those two to inquire about ordering, pricing process. Both had significant additional charges, were less than honest (we did our research ahead of time), and overall treated her Very poorly. We read about a good experience with Sawgrass and rep named Kierian on this forum, so we reached out. My wife went in on Dec. 6th and it was at that point we Learned we could not order the Lux package with the Spray-in, just the DIBL. We wanted to know if we could just drop the DIBL and have the dealer spray when it arrived. Kierian and the team took 24 hours to research, made some calls and basically said if wanted to order would have to get the DIBL, but they would be willing to work with us and discount the spray-in sharply. We thought about it and placed the order on 12/10. They advertised no dealer fees, and the signed Buyers order (both parties) was exactly as expected (MSRP). We noted that we were priority 19, and asked if we could get a priority 10 - which they gave us the next week and confirmed with a new print out.
While waiting, they contacted us with updates (i.e. when VIN was allocated and build date) - which we already knew. When the truck was shipped via rail, it arrived in Hialeah yard and sat for a week and KierIan followed up at least twice to let us know they had a shipment, ours was not on it (yet) - and then on April 25th told us it had arrived. Two weeks before (While truck was on the rail) we shopped our ”old” Honda Ridgeline truck around to Carvana, KBB, CarMax and then took it by Sawgrass for valuation. Nothing signed on the valuation, but was a good number especially with tax savings.
So…on the morning of April 25th, we took the call and asked if we could pick up that afternoon. Said they would try and confirmed at 1:00 they could complete PDI and have the truck ready for us at 4:00 - Kierian would stay (he usually left at 4:00 - school) and move us through. We got there, headed over to the finance guy to close the deal despite not financing (cash+trade-in) everything was EXACTLY as expected. They did not try to alter for the price increase, said they knew was on them to get that from Ford. No pressure when discussing warranty, tires, maintenance (we purchased tire protection). They gave us the exact same value on the truck and the document fees for licensing were reduced sharply since we did a transfer. That was it - MSRP, in and out in under an hour, no pressure all exactly what we wanted. They even walked us through the Ford Pass and getting the points which they submitted - without us requesting.
Later, we received a follow-up call to confirm all was good and even received a gift in the mail (cookies which kids and wife loved). They are a slightly smaller dealer owned by a family and it shows in how they treated us. They earned this good review and I wanted to put this out there - I’m sure like any business some may have had a different experience - but ours great. My father is ordering a Hybrid in August and we will be purchasing through Sawgrass.
BTW we kept the drop-in as it was actually pretty nice, no sure if we will do Spray-in at another time. They offered to give us a bed extender at steep discount which we have yet to decide on.
