Hello everyone, I would like some opinions.

Right now, I have a 23 Maverick Tremor with the Retrax Pro XR retractable cover. I like it but my issue is: I haul my kayak and I like to just throw it in there and tie it down and the canister for the retractable cover just takes up much needed space and the 4.4 foot bed. I was thinking about trying to sell it and get a hard rolling cover. It would cover a tiny bit of the window but I honestly think it’s worth it to get that bed space back.

Thoughts / opinions? And also, what would be the best way to go about selling the retractable? I tried marketplace and eBay local and had no luck, even with a pretty steep markdown. People were trying to get an $1800 cover for $200.

Thank you!

So by compromised space for your Retrax you mean occupying room below where it is mounted in the bed correct? Then yes you'll gain that space back with a roller, but will lose some above the bed obviously. I love my OEM hard rollup. I had a lot of points to burn and Ford had it on their site for 15% off so I rolled the dice.

Yeah it takes up almost an entire foot of space. Doesn’t go all the way down to the bed but it’s still difficult to get under there and impossible to put the kayak under. It would probably be a perfect set up for a lot of people but for my specific needs, I think the hard roll would be better. I’m all about practicality haha.

Yeah I've tried hard folding and soft rollup as well, but this is the best one as I can totally operate it one handed. But you are already spoiled with that using a Retrax.

Oh yea the one handed operation is nice 🤣 I think I’m basically sold on the hard roll up but I’m wondering if there’s a better option to sell my Retrax? I’d take a loss of course but it is what it is.
