Refuse Recall During Warranty Claim?

My spare tire winch broke on the first time using it. Starting clicking when the tire was half way down and would no longer crank up or down.

I’d like to take it in but can I refuse the blinker recall installation when I take it in?

I really don’t trust the recall given some of the post-recall issues people are having (especially with hybrids) but I’m going to assume it’s mandatory.

I’ve had a few warranty claims and gotten nearly all the recalls done. My dealer is happy to just perform one specific task for an appointment. In fact on Thursday I had the heat exchanger replacement under warranty and did not have the instrumental cluster recall performed, dealer didn’t seem to care.

Call the dealership's service department and ask them. AFAIK, any safety recalls are supposed to be completed if you take your truck in for service, even if you took it in for something else.

Obviously can't speak for others, but I've had absolutely no issues after any of the recalls were completed.

I had the wiring harness recall done and told them Not to do the airbag recall. No issues.

They took two or three days when they did my airbag and broke a speaker and a headliner connector. To fix their own mistakes I had to leave it with them another two days. That's why.

If you replaced your bulbs with LED bulbs from Lasfit, then your dash blinker lights will hyperflash, when you get the lastest software update.

If only I had read your post yesterday. I just had the blinker recall update today and have the HyperFlash now!!!

You have the XLT, then Lasfit has a replacement bulb for you. It's just the Lariat they don't have a replacement bulb for. And I think they will ship the replacement bulbs free, at least there is a post somewhere on this blog stating as much.
