Radio cutout from Cell Phone alarms, Text received.

I've noticed that the audio cuts off (and doesn't come back on) when my phone gives me an alarm, like if my Dexcom blood sugar monitor detects a blood suger event. Or from even receiving a text message. I have to manually turn audio back on. Also it switches itself from an OTA FM radio channel to a phone connection Pandora channel. I shouldn't have to turn my phone off while driving!
