I am both fascinated and frightened about potential longevity of some Hybrid components. I would be interested to read other peoples thoughts on the hybrid engine's unique parts vs the EcoBoost's engines conventional parts.

1) ac compressor,
b) starter,
III) alternator,

The high voltage Inverter Air Conditioner compressor. Research leads me to believe the Hybrid A/C compressor has some benefit
when compared to a common scroll or swash-plate-piston compressors. The inverter units are more efficient, variable speed, brushless motor, quieter and better temp control. The cost for an inverter compressor online ranges from $350 to $1300, kinda pricey.

The Hybrid's alternator and starter functions are taken care of by one of ECVT motors. Is it reasonable to think the Hybrid's enclosed ECVT alternator/starter will last longer than the conventional starters and alternators on the EcoBoost's engine?

I can't speak for Ford hybrids yet because I just found out that mind is scheduled to be built in August. I am now driving a Honda hybrid and have had it for 4 years and have had no problems with it. I get as many as 48 mpg for a 4 door full sized car. I have also previously owned a hybrid Lincoln and had no problems with it. Of course, we all can see those that do have their problems on this site. Not everyone has had good cars to drive like me. I hope my truck follows like my previous hybrids and many others from this site have the same results.
