I got my 23 XLT Lux 
ecoboost AWD 2 weeks ago and love it so far. I had a company 2014 escape for many years and had to start driving my own vehicle. So far this is exactly what I wanted.
I will say I miss some of the tech my 22 escape had for the price ( lane keep assist, adaptive cruise. SYNC 3)
but I don't feel bad throwing dirty things in the back of the maverick.
