New order info

Hi everyone that has ordered a truck. Can you tell me how I will know it has been scheduled for build and what the VIN is? Does that come in an email, text, or maybe from my dealer. TIA

Once you've placed an order with your dealer you should receive a confirmation from Ford that your order has been placed and they are working on it.

You'll then get assigned a build week (somewhere down the line) and eventually receive your VIN# through e-mail.

However - this is all dependent on your dealer entering your contact information with the order itself.

Did you sign a DORA with the sales code and order code on it? You can use that to track your order through Ford Chat.

Then it sounds like you have a competent salesperson and dealership - which is a great first step.

Unfortunately the next step is to wait.

Thanks, I heard the build schedule for Feb and March may be released tomorrow. Hopefully I will hear something soon.

Wish I could say the same about the salesman. He called me two days ago, said he has my truck in. A green XLT. No more about it, made an appt. to go get it, rented a car because I have had no vehicle since July 31st. Excited, got there, close to signing, etc. Looked it over and it was a Lariat. Not my truck. Same everything except it was not the same vin number, which I thought he would have checked at some point. Did a search and found the truck was 45 miles away from the dealership. That was two days ago. I called Ford and it is still 45 miles from here. It will be there until the 20th, if I can believe that. I have lost confidence in everyone now. They will probably sell the truck in Nashville and I will get a "sorry for your luck" email.

As always, you can just call Ford to confirm the status. Have your order code and sales code handy.
