I would guess any non-metallic, non tri-coat paint would be the lightest weight but it would be so negligible I don't see what difference it would make. That's not even the kind of thing people who are trying to shave 10th's of a second off a quarter mile worry about.
Well apparently Mercedes got their iconic silver color because shaving the lead paint off their F1 sports car in the 1900s just barely got them within the weight limit of the competition 🤪.

I never thought about this! It makes sense, the Hot Pepper Red is probably the "heaviest" color. :p

Interesting topic!

F1's been around since the 1900's?!

WOW the misinformation here geez. Well it is the internet.
White will be the heaviest paint. The pigment is titanium dioxide which is pretty much the heaviest pigment there is. Black on the other hand, uses various forms of carbon black pigments which makes it the lightest as carbon black is very light. Red & yellow pigments are mostly heavier pigments plus the fact they have very poor black & white hiding so more paint generally has to be applied. Whites generally have B&W hiding of around 1.2 -1.4 mils whereas black down around .5 mils. But the OEMs do have a minimum DFT, (dry film thickness), so they'd still put on .7-.9 mils. So that is another reason why a black paint job would weigh less than say a white one.
Also someone mentioned white has less binder and additives in it? Ummm, again not true at all.

Mine is the lightest color because it has not even been built yet. 6/19/2021 order!

Bare metal, no paint, no primer. Don't think it's an option though. ;)
It's always an option. Didn't you ever hear of aircraft paint remover? That and a brass wire wheel on a drill, a little elbow grease and bob's you're uncle!

If you remove your paint, does it cause hood flutter?

You might get cold down there and "flutter" a bit. Oh wait, I though you said pants...

Me too.. bored at work..

Also related to your comment, I know that Mythbusters is not the end all, be all of scientific data, but they had an episode where the covered a car in clay, smoothed it out and measured the MPGs. Then they put dimples in it just like a golf ball and measured the MPGs. I believe the dimpled car got better MPGs.
Have that episode somewhere on series DVD!! Added something like 400-500#'s of clay.
Then, used a separate fuel tank, with a specific amount of fuel.
Oddly, the dimple car actually had better mileage!!
Same abandoned stretch of road and same speed, over a set distance.
Interestign in how that worked out.

However, I never got around to dimpling my current truck to improve my mileage!
